We hope you enjoy our Black Flag cover! This was the first time I chose a song that had been sang by four different members of the band. Each member had a different flare, but I really leaned into the Ron Reyes version. Recorded vocals at Smoke in a Tree studio with Andy Cavanaugh. Mixed by JP Gericke of Death by Stereo. Edited by Tyson Van, his first with us!

BLACK FLAG - “Louie Louie” EP 7”. Released 12 October 1981 on Posh Boy Records.

Happy 45th birthday to this iconic BLACK FLAG single, the last with Dez on vocals. By the time this EP was released, Dez had transitioned to second guitar, having vacant vocal duties now being handled by Henry. Dez had totally resigned from the band by 1983, but not before a being contributing songwriter to many tracks on “Damaged”, “TV Party”, and “My War”.

WOUNDED WEDNESDAY “Record of the Day” #blackflag

Black Flag ‎– TV Party. 1982. Unicorn Records ‎– 95006, SST Records ‎– 95006. 1st Press.

Another wounded Black Flag 7 inch single from my collection that I’ve had this since the year it came out. 1982. 6th grade. Such a silly, corny little song that I know every word to, that I sing along with every time I hear it, yelling out the tv shows in order…

“We’re Dedicated to Our Favorite Shows”:

That’s incredible!
Hill Street Blues!
Dallas!

Saturday Night Live!
Monday Night Football!

Chuck Dukowski at the Vex, July 23rd, 1983. Take a look just below between the O and T of my watermark. I never noticed it until I was editing this photo while having my AM coffee and watching stage 11 of the Vuelta a Espana. #blackflag #chuckdukowski #punkrockphotography #blackandwhitephotography #livemusicphotography

@mikeapearson’s book “My War on Wilshire” just came in the mail today. The book showcases Mike’s color photographs from the Black Flag gig on July 4th 1983 at the Federal Building on West LA. The photos are amazing and it’s very cool to see myself in them shooting photos. A huge thanks to Mike for including my photo of you taking a shot and to the guys at @bazillionpoints for sending me the books. We were also shooting pics at the Vex gig on July 24th, 1983. He was on the left side of the stage and I was on the right. #blackflag #hardcorepunk #hardcorepunkrock #punkphotography punkphotographer

Black Flag @blackflagband
Black Flag are one of the most influential American hardcore punk bands, founded in 1976 by guitarist Greg Ginn. Their aggressive sound, relentless touring schedule, and independent DIY approach helped shape the American punk scene. Albums such as Damaged and My War influenced generations of hardcore, grunge, alternative rock, and heavy music artists.
