“Dance when you’re perfectly free.”— Rumi

Thank you to the family and friends that just keep bringing it in every way — the most showing up kind you will ever meet…the most fun and fabulous….the melody to the dance.

I love you!

Bird, I am beyond proud of you. This ending is a heartbreak, but you played your heart out and showed up with one of the best games of your life to finish off this chapter. But always more than that – it’s who you are and who you have become along the way – to yourself and to others. And you, my darling, are a leader. People are impacted by your love and your presence and your power. I will deeply miss watching that beautiful shot fall through the net and the satisfaction of you blocking a shot. It is good and worthy to have given your whole heart to an endeavor, to have loved it fully, and without abandon. Without knowing what it will give you back. That kind of vulnerability and courage will serve you your entire life. And more than all of that, even, is the people you have come to love along the way. The community, who has both poured into you and also has been made better for having you in it. What a gift you have given yourself and us in this beautiful journey. Words cannot capture what you’ve given and how hard you’ve worked over so many years. But you will always know. Love and basketball. Forever.
