During our fundraising art market on 30 May at Plantage Dok, we will be screening the documentary film Landslide (2016, Kyiv, Ukraine), directed by Oleksii Radynskyi @oleksiy.radynski

The film portrays post-revolutionary Ukraine through a community of people attempting to build a new society within the cracks of a collapsing social system. Set in central Kyiv, in an area reclaimed by nature after a series of landslides, the film follows a countercultural underground that inhabited abandoned garage spaces, transforming them into studios, meeting spots, and places of collective experimentation. Among them are the E.T.C. graffiti crew, tech geeks, and an avant-garde queer theatre that fled the war in Luhansk.

The screening will be followed by a talk led by Nastja @chuka__ about the art space documented in the film, as well as other unconventional and self-organised art spaces.

works on Hartree, Cambridge (UK). @LOLALandscapeArchitects was selected by @Landsec_UandI and @we.are.TOWN as landscape designers to transform a 48-ha brownfield in North-East Cambridge (UK), and design the masterplan for Hartree, a new 120-acre residential development. Hartree is the last large-scale, brownfield regeneration site in Cambridge. A new residential-led mixed-use quarter of 5,600 homes, with schools, shops, workspaces and community facilities.

In landscape design, nature and people come together, stimulating slow-mobility and providing direct connections to the natural world. Habitat conservation and new, inclusive multi-use spaces, will enhance well-being and foster a vibrant, sustainable environment. With a focus on its history and existing on-site legacy, Hartree showcases a unique identity, bridging nature and its post-industrial character.

The strategy for high-quality open spaces focuses on people-centered activities while preserving existing natural habitats and providing new ones, aligning with Cambridge’s vision for vibrant, inclusive urban environments. This approach fosters intergenerational interaction, offering play spaces, multifunctional areas, green routes, and water-centric landscapes, ensuring both ecological integrity and community engagement.
