ā€¼ļø MUST VISIT IN CHINATOWN ā€¼ļø The award-winning Filipino dessert shop offers a one-of-a-kind range of flavours you probably won’t find elsewhere in central London. Despite having few seats, I’ve always had a good time in Mamasons, with the buzzing atmosphere, pastel colours and lively music. I’d recommend the Halo Halo (āļø 8/10) if you’re here for the first time - mixing up the shaved ice, evaporated milk, coconut strings, jellies, leche flan and ube ice cream is truly a memorable experience. Their ube ice cream is absolutely heavenly - aside from the gorgeous Instagrammable colour, its earthy, vaguely vanilla-like flavour is truly unforgettable. I quite enjoyed both Bilogs (āļø 8/10) - warm, toasty pandesal sandwiches bursting with ice cream. They’re big enough to share but can get a little messy, so why not get one for yourself?

I won’t lie, you have to be prepared to pay a premium for these lovely desserts. It’s no different to the prices of most Asian food here, but I’d say that it’s worth at least a try (and perhaps several repeated visits). The queues were massive both times I came (Thursday and Sunday afternoon), so I’d say to come as soon as they open if you’re in a rush. At the risk of sounding cliched, it warms my heart to see people of different identities come together to enjoy some delicious food, as is the case whenever I visit Mamasons. Do yourself a favour and drop by! šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹
