[The making of]
The brewing of a happening is also as exciting as the event.

We let the process lead, to take us to the ma(i)ngo(al)
And after we asked questions like:
Should we bake them before or just fry them?
You think three hours is enough?
Do we have enough garlic?
Where do we put the onigiri?

Here we share the process where we learn, adapt, socialize and enjoy💫

Thank you for joining our writing workshop With(in) Timewise. 🍀☃️

It was a true pleasure to spend this afternoon together — writing, sharing, and moving gently through time.

Together, we explored the idea of the 24 Solar Terms, and reimagined them through our own lived rhythms — across languages, memories, bodies, and cities.

Thank you for your openness, your presence, and your words. 💚

UPCOMING EVENT: A Spring Gathering at MEP with achoo.collective 💐

This spring, we invites achoo.collective for a special afternoon of writing, seasonal reflection, and shared food. 🥢

On 4 April, we come together around <With(in) Timewise> — an essay-calendar inspired by the 24 Solar Terms. The event begins with an introduction to the cultural background of the 24 Solar Terms and the story behind the publication, followed by a guided creative writing workshop in which participants are invited to imagine and name their own “solar terms” through everyday life, the body, the city, and the season.

Food is an important part of the gathering. The artists of achoo.collective will prepare a spring seasonal serving inspired by traditional seasonal eating, while mep will create a special drink and a special gelato flavour for the occasion.

A spring afternoon to think, write, taste, and welcome the season together. 💗

Walking, listening, reading, noticing, eating… early October at school 🥾🌊🍚👂🍃

Critical Infrastructures walk through Lange Erlen led by @martin.woellenstein and @pigment_e_motion, inquiring on water ecologies, border regimes, and mutual support systems — including visiting one of Basel’s water treatment facilities.

@hgkbasel_transversaldesign Hacking module begins at @hackthepromise, plus a great talk on deep listening and embodied exercises with @iulia_kite, and a workshop by @maika_dieterich and @annluuca ‘this text is not written by chatgpt’.

View from my desk in the studio. Making a film with the help of a canal. Wildflowers at school, and Japanese quince by the roadside.

Publishing module begins at @i_n_f_o_s_p_a_c_e with @lucieemiliekolb, discussing library making as practice, disobedient libraries, Sara Ahmed’s ‘Living a Feminist Life’, and what we might include in our killjoy survival kit.

@stanbam1’s collective @asianfuturescollective came to town and we ate congee and moon cake together 🥮🤗
