About two years ago my daughter begged me to start regularly attending church.

She loved the children’s ministry at a church we’d visit off and on, and because of her earnest desire to attend, I began to get up on Sunday mornings and drive us both to church, even in the middle of what I’d considered a crisis of faith (what your children can inspire in your life is a whole other story, but I am so grateful for Zara’s insistence - it has changed my life).

It wasn’t until last year, shortly after my grandfather passed, that I sat beside my brother and went to an 8am service where the mimes ministered at Victory Christian Ministries International, Charles County (VCMICC) and felt something stir on the inside of me, IYKYK.

Psalm 139:8 guided me and I started my walk with Christ with baby steps, not even knowing how to pray or what to say or how to read and understand and engage with the Word with the million questions I had.

I let Brie know I was interested in joining the mime ministry after sharing what it meant to me at that time in my life. During our first practice, I brought Zara and by the end, she joined becoming our youngest mime. It struck me that we both could feel a similar calling.

My Aunt Lorraine passed a little over a week ago after her battle with cancer which she shared with her followers and faithfully, weekly testified through. I attended her funeral this past Saturday and the next day, Resurrection Sunday, we were set to minister alongside all the arts (❤️❤️❤️). All the grief and crisis that I’ve felt for the last couple of years, I found a way to emit and testify through. The song says “everything dead is coming back to life” and I believe it, fully.

After experiencing a range of intense emotions this week, I still feel peace. God meets you exactly where you are and, as Pastor P always says, nothing is wasted in the kingdom, not grief, nor doubt, nor pain, or loneliness.

Aunt Lorraine, this one was for you. Enjoy the recap and view the FULL service on VCMICC’s YouTube Channel. Happy belated Resurrection Sunday. ✨✨

This week our founder called on us to minister at a church, and of course, we showed up with a joyful yes! We shared a piece we had ministered before, and once again, God’s faithfulness and justice were on full display. Thank you, VCMI, for welcoming us and allowing us to serve! 💙✨🕊️
