LUPO · Bike of the Week:  Ciöcc San Cristóbal • Late 1970s Behind every great bike, there’s a great pair of hands. Giovanni Pelizzoli grew up around bicycles, working in his father’s repair shop before learning the art of frame building — including an apprenticeship with legendary Italian builder Ugo De Rosa. By the late ’60s, he was building his own racing frames from his workshop in Curno, near Bergamo. His nickname was “Ciöcc” — and it became the name on his bikes. Pelizzoli wasn’t just a builder. He worked as a mechanic in professional racing, including with the G.S. Zonca team, bringing what he learned from racers directly back to the workshop. His craftsmanship would reach far beyond Ciöcc, with Pelizzoli later building for other celebrated names like Masi. Then came San Cristóbal, 1977. Claudio Corti won the Amateur Road World Championship on a Ciöcc — inspiring the name of one of Pelizzoli’s most celebrated frames: the San Cristobal. Fine chrome lugs, pantographed details and signature Ciöcc cut-outs. Through the ’70s and ’80s, Pelizzoli’s frames raced at the highest level, including Czesław Lang’s Olympic silver in 1980. By the ’90s, he continued designing and building for the Masciaghi's Fausto Coppi brand, including frames for Team Polti. Built by hand, shaped by racing. A little piece of cycling history at LUPO. #ciocc #masi #derosa #steelisreel #pellizzoli

BienneCrit, BIENNE 🇨🇭 7th place on a technical and fast course in a beautiful city, with a really high level of competition. I got the strategy wrong and wasted too much energy at the beginning, but it was still a great battle! Thanks @biennecrit @cyclecircus.cc
