Threw a dinner party for my Sweet 16x2 with my Momma! Party details ⬇️

Menu:
🦀 Appetizer: Dutch crab salad with endive and grapefruit
🥔 Main: Gehaktballen (Dutch Meatballs) with boerenkool stamppot (mashed potatoes with kale), and a mustardy brown gravy
🍋Dessert: Pavlovas with homemade lemon curd, fruits, and fresh mascarpone whipped cream

🍷Wine paring for each course by: @barton.guestier

💕Dress Code: Fun, funky, colorful

🎉 Decor: Anything Whimsical! I tied random ribbons to each wine glass so each guest could differentiate their glass all night and created a hanging table scape with metallic fringe and banners for a tweenage-feel

Thirty-nine years of marriage tomorrow . ❤️

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that a lasting marriage isn’t something you find—it’s something you build.

What you see in a photo is the smile, the anniversary dinner, and the happy moments. What you don’t see are the compromises, the difficult conversations, the forgiveness, the patience, and the countless times you choose each other even when life gets messy.

Marriage isn’t always easy. It takes work, commitment, and a willingness to grow together through every season of life. Some years are easier than others, but every year teaches you something new about love.

One of the greatest gifts of these 39 years has been sharing life’s adventures together. We’ve traveled to beautiful places, celebrated milestones, navigated challenges, and created memories that have become part of our story. These days, some of our greatest joy comes from watching our family grow and spending time with our granddaughters. They remind us what really matters and make this season of life especially sweet.

After 39 years, I’m grateful not because we’ve had a perfect marriage, but because we’ve continued to show up for it. We’ve learned that love isn’t just found in the big moments—it’s in the everyday choices, the shared experiences, and the commitment to keep moving forward together.

Here’s to growing older together, making new memories, spoiling our granddaughters, and choosing each other—again and again. ❤️

Tomorrow night we will celebrate our anniversary at the 7880 Club at @steinresidences and Father’s Day golfing.

Made it out on a date last week to preview the new @sushibybou_ at @thefidihotel 🍣

When I tell you each course was even better than the last, I’m not kidding. Everything was so fresh and it’s hard to choose a favorite but the texture and flavor of the ikura (salmon roe) were 👨🏻‍🍳💋

If you’re looking for a great omakase experience with great vibes, I highly recommend it. Great for a date night or girls night- plus the playlist will have you dancing through every bite and each sip of their extraordinary cocktails! 🍸 💃🏼
