Coffee Milano Cafe in Massachusetts, the United States, has gone viral on social media with a unique promotion: free coffee for anyone who dances into the shop. TikTok users praised the promotion for spreading positivity, with many commenting that the dance-filled atmosphere brought them to tears of happiness. Paul McCartney attended the premiere of Beatles ‘64, a new documentary capturing The Beatles’ iconic 1964 debut in the United States, at the Hudson Square Theater in New York City on Sunday. The 82-year-old former Beatles bassist was joined by his wife, Nancy Shevell, 65, as well as filmmaker Martin Scorsese, 82, who executive produced the documentary. Also in attendance was Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, who posed for a photo with McCartney. The documentary, set to premiere on November 29 and stream on Disney+, chronicles the Beatles’ two-week U.S. tour in February 1964. It includes new interviews with McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as archival footage of the late John Lennon and George Harrison. Focusing on the band’s unforgettable debut on The Ed Sullivan Show and performances at venues like the Washington Coliseum and Carnegie Hall, Beatles ‘64 examines how the group’s arrival coincided with cultural upheavals in America, including the aftermath of the Kennedy assassination and the rise of Beatlemania. Researchers at the University of Richmond in the United States have discovered that rats seem to genuinely enjoy driving small cars, offering unexpected insights into animal behavior and motivation. The finding came following an experiment in 2019, when the team trained rats to operate plastic cars by grasping a wire that acted as an accelerator, with snacks as a reward. Surprisingly, the rats learned to drive with impressive precision, eagerly steering toward their treats. In a more recent experiment, researchers began teaching rats how to drive more advanced vehicles, and the rats’ enthusiasm for the process grew. Professor Kelly Lambert noted that the rats often jumped into the car before training sessions, seemingly excited not just for the reward, but for the drive itself. This led the researchers to explore the rats’ emotional responses, including their anticipation of rewards. In a study, rats were trained to wait for rewards, and those with higher levels of anticipation showed more optimism and improved cognitive abilities. The researchers also observed signs of the “feel-good” hormone dopamine, such as the rats holding their tails high. This suggests that the anticipation of rewards can boost persistence and motivation, offering insights into how planning and enjoyment of the process might benefit brain health. Indonesia’s State-Owned Enterprises Minister, Erick Thohir, has announced plans to begin constructing a new airport in Bali by 2027 to accommodate the growing number of passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, which currently serves 32 million passengers annually. The existing airport, the second busiest in Indonesia, is expected to reach its capacity by 2029 or 2030, making the new airport a necessary step to meet future demand. Erick emphasized the urgency of starting construction by 2027, warning that delays could make the situation more difficult in the years ahead. The new airport is part of a broader vision promoted by President Prabowo Subianto to develop northern Bali, specifically in Buleleng regency, into a major economic hub similar to global cities like Singapore and Hong Kong. While Erick acknowledged the importance of the project, he noted that the location of the airport would be decided by both the central government and regional authorities. All 12 songs from American rapper and hip-hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar’s new album ‘GNX’ has made its way to occupy the entire ‘Top 12’ on the US Spotify and US Apple Music charts at the time of writing. The release of GNX, Kendrick’s sixth album, took fans by surprise as it came out without any prior notice on Friday. The album features collaborations with renowned artists like SZA, along with contributions from Jack Antonoff, Kamasi Washington, Roddy Ricch, and more. GNX follows Lamar’s 2022 album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Fans have quickly praised GNX on social media, with many calling Lamar one of the greatest artists of all time. The new album comes after Lamar’s high-profile rap beef with Drake. The rivalry culminated in Lamar’s anthem “Not Like Us,” which became a chart-topping hit and helped end the feud. Lamar’s 2025 is shaping up to be another monumental year. He is set to perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in February and is nominated for seven Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Song. Chinese fighter Ming Shi has made a major career leap, securing a UFC contract with a stunning knockout victory at a recent UFC Fight Night event. However, the biggest surprise may be for her parents, who are unaware that their daughter is now a professional MMA fighter. Shi won the “Road to UFC” strawweight tournament in dramatic fashion, landing a brutal head kick on opponent Xiaocan Feng in the third round, knocking her out cold. Feng had to be stretchered out of the octagon and taken to a nearby hospital, though updates reassured fans about her condition. For her performance, Shi earned a UFC contract and a USD 50,000 (Rp 797 million) Performance of the Night bonus. What’s striking, however, is that Shi’s parents have no idea about her MMA career. They believe she only participates in traditional martial arts competitions, like breaking wooden boards. Shi, who comes from a traditional Chinese family, explained that her parents would be concerned if they knew she was fighting professionally. “For my parents, they are traditional Chinese parents and they worry about me,” she said, adding that she plans to keep her UFC career a secret from them—for now. A panel of juries found on Friday Irish mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor to be guilty of assaulting a woman at a party in Dublin in 2018 and must pay her nearly EUR 250,000 (Rp 4.1 billion) in damages. The plaintiff, Nikita Hand, alleged that McGregor sexually assaulted her on Dec. 9, 2018, and that another man, James Lawrence, did the same, although Lawrence was cleared of the charges by the jury. Hand said that she and a friend made contact with McGregor after a work Christmas party. She said they were driven by McGregor to a party in a penthouse room of a south Dublin hotel where drugs and alcohol were consumed. She said McGregor took her to a bedroom in the penthouse and sexually assaulted her. Speaking outside the court, Hand said she was overwhelmed by the support she had received and that she felt vindicated. McGregor, meanwhile, denied the allegation and said he had “fully consensual sex” with Hand. He also denied causing bruising to the plaintiff. President Prabowo Subianto has expressed a dream of establishing a homegrown car brand, according to Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. During the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week event on Friday, Agus told the media that Prabowo envisions Indonesia producing its own car, and has challenged the automotive industry to make this a reality. Indonesia’s automotive sector currently assembles foreign brands, primarily from Japan, China, South Korea, and Europe, with production hubs in areas like Cikarang, Karawang, and soon Subang, West Java. However, with 70 to 80 percent of the car parts already being made locally, Agus said that country already has the capability to develop its own vehicles. Gaikindo, the Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers, is looking to rise up to the challenge and is now expected to work toward creating a fully Indonesian-designed and manufactured car, from production to materials.
