Salud y Rock

One of the important things I've learned in life is recognizing that when you're in a room with great artist the best thing you can do is be quiet and listen. No trite questions or small talk. Ian Paice is one of those artists. In the few minutes I had with him he had more than a few sage thoughts. He said drummers who chose one favourite drummer to study become a lesser version of that drummer and that even listening to drummers / music you don't prefer can still teach you something. Listening, hearing and watching was why I wanted to be there (the photo op was nice too). Thank you Cimi for facilitating a priceless moment.

When I'm not able to secure a photo cred there's a part of my creative self that kicks in and refuses to go home with a blank card. Photographer becomes punter. You do what you need to do. Ian Paice is far too important not to be included in Roll Models : The Book of Drum. Shot with my iPhone.
