POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Architecture contributes significantly to unsustainable building and living practices. But it also has the potential to create real change. Join us for an evening exploring how structural change in the built environment can be made in different geographical contexts 🏗️

Meet:
Signe Wenneberg
Natalie Mossin
Anne Beim
Yalla Project (PL)
Simon Kjær Hansen
Jakob Strømann-Andersen, Director for Innovation and Sustainability for Architecture and Landscape at Henning Larsen Architects (DK).

The event is free upon sign-up. Get your tickets at CAFx.dk 🔗

Invitation:
JORDFORBINDELSE

Dato: 17.09.2026
Tidspunkt: 13.00 - 16.00
Adresse:
Det Kongelige Akademi
Philip de Langes Allé 10, 1435 København K
Auditorium 10, opgang A

Seminaret er arrangeret af kandidatprogrammet Bosætning, Økologi og Tektonik.
Det er åbent for alle interesserede.

Speaking for itself ...or much better - through architecture!
The green transition of the construction industry will be based on fast-growing biogenic material resources - wait and see.

The tactility, familiarity and the accessibility worldwide of biogenic materials, as reed and straw, form inspiring possibilities for architects to create a build environment that respect our planets carrying capacity.

In session 15: MATERIAL FRAMEWORKS: STRUCTURE AS ENVIRONMENTAL MEDIATOR, researchers from CINARK will present the results from full scale experiments that have been tested in the Deserta Ecofolie curated by Professor Pedro I. Alonso and Pamela Prado, PUC, Chile.
Deserta Ecofolie was presented for the first time at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2025 and is planned to be built in the Atacama Desert as a living lab testing self-sufficiency, material durability and the environmental impact of construction.

Our talk is titled: Regenerative Biogenic Façades for extreme climates.
The session is held Tuesday the 30th of June from 10.45-11.45 at CCIB stage 8.

Session Content:
Environmental forces are translated here into constructive systems. Prefabricated thatch cassettes regulate heat and fire risk; timber trusses and linen membranes collect and filter rain; bamboo–concrete hybrids organise ventilation and communal life. Rather than treating climate as background constraint, these projects embed atmospheric performance within structure itself. Architecture operates as environmental mediator, where material assembly, geometry, and local resources generate spatial comfort through tectonic precision.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
