🤍In Honor of @gloriasteinem 🤍

A glimpse from @ponesinc 2023 @cincyfringe show “Keeping our Torch.” This piece told diverse stories of the aging community through movement, music and multimedia. Inspired by real life stories from 22 community elders on the formative milestones of their lives, the knowledge they’ve gained and would like to share, and their hopes for intergenerational joy; this offering honored the experience of lives lived fully and how younger generations can learn from our elders.

Inspired by the quote, “At my age, in this still hierarchical time, people often ask me if I’m passing the torch. I explain that I’m keeping my torch, thank you very much—and I’m using it to light the torches of others.”

After 5 years of incredible work and steadfast commitment to the Know, we are saying a bittersweet goodbye to Marketing and Communications Manager & Cincinnati Fringe Festival Producer, Katie Hartman. Katie has poured her heart and soul not only into the art, but also into the community of artists, patrons, and friends that she’s made along the way. She has shaped so much of what the Know Theatre has become over the last 5 years with her creativity, kindness, and passion that will be felt here for years to come.

Katie is moving on to serve as the new Marketing Director at the History Theatre in St. Paul, MN, starting this September. We are so grateful for everything she has given the Know and so very thrilled to see what’s next for her and her family on this big adventure.

Thank you, Katie, for everything. Please join us in saying “Congratulations!” and “Go get ‘em”. The Twin Cities are lucky to have you back!
