A little bit of life lately 🫶🏼

I spent part of last week getting ready for another year at Brookstone, and I’m especially excited about what we’re building in photography this year.

👉💙Brookstone gives me the flexibility to teach while continuing to run my portrait business. Staying active as a working photographer lets me bring real world experience back into the classroom!

I’ll be teaching Advanced Level II Photography and AP Photography as a part of Brookstone’s Technology Department.

Photography today lives at the intersection of art, technology, digital media, storytelling and marketing, and I want my students to experience all of that.

We’ll still be learning the fundamentals but this year I’m also integrating more digital media, AI, branding, and marketing into the classroom. I want students thinking not only about how to create an image, but why they’re creating it, who it’s for, and how it communicates an idea. (That’s much closer to how photography actually works in the real world)

I’ve spent a lot of years behind a camera professionally, and getting to bring that experience into the classroom and watch students develop their own creative voice is one of the parts of this job I enjoy most. 👏📸

BONUS: It’s my @julieanne_pyle ‘s SENIOR YEAR as a Cougar 💙🤍

Some seniors bring jerseys.
Some bring instruments.
Some bring their future. 🔥
