Books, Gowns, and Crowns Chapter 5 was one for the books!

I had so much fun this past weekend in San Diego with @booksgownsandcrowns at my panel, the speed dating event at the welcome party, and the amazing signings!

I loved getting to catch up with author friends and meet and chat with so many amazing readers. Seeing you is the best part of this job, and I love it when I get to talk with you at events. I hope you had as much fun as I did. @authorjordan.a.day you and your team put on a fabulous event as always. Thank you for the most magical time!

Did I mention that Jessie absolutely rocked the Morally Grey panel with myself, R.L. Davennor, Mellisa K. Roehrich, Kathy Haan, and Maddox Grey? Incredible!

If you missed seeing me this weekend, you can snag signed and personalized copies from my local indies at the 🔗 in my b!0 right now.

Next stop: Willa’s Ever After in Charles Town! Let me know if I’ll see you there?

And I’d love for you to tell me — what’s one question you’d ask an author if you did an author speed dating event? 👀

Summer is coming to a close, which means it’s time for another recap post! A lot happened this summer, possibly most notably: I revealed my debut’s cover. It’s now available to order at most major retailers!

I’m trying my best to show up for the authors in my community. Atlanta has quite a few authors who I really admire and are genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve met. It’s been really cool to see the community celebrate new book releases this summer. I’m looking forward to more book events in the fall!

My book’s release will be here before we know it: May 4, 2027. Wild to think it’ll be in the hands of readers so soon. Can’t spend too much time marveling at that concept, because book 2 isn’t going to write itself!

Just returned from a profoundly sacred retreat in Nevada City, and my soul is overflowing with deep reverence and gratitude. ✨

To my dear soul sisters, @whitneyyarn & @_lindseymarie_ thank you! I’ve journeyed through many retreats with you both across different seasons of my life, but this gathering arrived exactly when my spirit needed it most. It was an absolute honor to be trusted to hold space, offering bodywork to such a divine collective of women from all walks of life.

Adding to the magic of this weekend, was the beautiful blessing of having two of my Reiki students @san_d_jeep_adventure and @imcnazz participate alongside me. What an absolute joy it was to share so much laughter and light together. Witnessing each other’s journeys unfold and cultivating a sistership that I cherish deeply.

The past couple of years have been so heavy for me. I’ve been navigating so much grief. When you serve as an anchor, it is so easy to unconsciously absorb the shadows, sorrow, and generational heaviness that isn’t yours to keep. I arrived at this sanctuary with one clear intention: to gently let go and wash away any cords of energy that no longer belong to me.

Immersing myself in the sacred Yuba River was a true spiritual clearing. It washed away the dense heaviness that had settled into my bones. Surrounded by the safety of this sisterhood, grounded by high-vibrational meals, conscious breathwork, and deep somatic release, my physical body finally felt safe enough to exhale.

The heavy stories I have walked through, and the grief I have helped carry, do not dictate the essence of who I am.
After pouring out so much of my own life force this year, this space reminded me of the sacred balance of healing. To be a clear vessel for others, I must also allow myself to fully, deeply receive. 🌿💧

We felt the energy of this group of women months before we gathered in the forest for this experience, a palpable depth and devotion that only grew stronger as we neared this retreat and expanded into something to be truly awestruck by during our time together.

One thing is always abundantly clear after hosting retreats, and it is that the importance of gathering in circle with other humans cannot be understated. Like the mycelium network beneath our feet, we become stronger when we are fully supported in community, when we can share our gifts and become a resource for others, and when we open our hearts to the truth and wisdom that is woven into the very core of us. These spaces become a permission slip to authentically be yourself & be seen and appreciated for who you truly are in all your wildness, weirdness, beauty, flaws, grief and joy - and to see and love yourself in that same way.

And this we also know to be true, spaces of healing deserve to contain joy and play and wonder - in fact, they must. Seeing the power of what unfolds in these containers is nothing short of miraculous and we pour our whole hearts into creating spaces where people can continue coming home to themselves and each other - creating new patterns and blueprints for their lives and how they move in the world as we all create ripples in the fabric of this Earth that continue to spread light around our world. The work we do is both a privilege and a gift.

Thank you to every woman of Elysian Forest who showed up for themselves & each other, each of you are an immense inspiration. Thank you to the land that held us and the amazing property we had the pleasure of journeying on for this retreat. And thank you to all our helpers, both seen and unseen, for making this experience flow seamlessly + successfully.

Our retreat family continues to grow with the most incredible people & we can’t wait to see who else joins us in the coming months! We have one spot left for our September 2026 medicine retreat and we’re dreaming up some potent offerings for 2027 ~ reach out + stay connected for more details.

With fierce love + devotion ❤️‍🔥

Thank you, @_lindseymarie_ and @whitneyyarn for bringing us together with so much love!

I know I am speaking for the group when I say we all felt seen, nourished, and deeply cared for as we moved through deep layers of shedding.

Thank you both for holding the torch, and creating a safe space for releasing. I left feeling lighter, connected, centered and deeply grounded with a bunch of amazing, new friends! Ready for the next chapter!

With all of you by my side! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

See you all in a few weeks! 🌈📸❤️

𝐐𝐎𝐓𝐃: Do you enjoy a good heist in your stories? Do you have a favorite? (Bonus points if it's queer!)

Absolutely no hate for SIX OF CROWS! It's just everyone and their grandpa knows about it. 😂

Good afternoon, Bibliophiles! 🥰 This an impromptu post but it's something I've been wanting to get back into and I forgot I had an ARC of mine come out today so I figured this would be a good time to launch it!

Not a real bookstagram

Still a me // what I stand for + am learning about account

But also a: how necessary is it to see and learn about the whole person account

Stories + art are the way imo

As Tiffany Hammond says often: we are more than one thing.

The more I read the more I remember what hard-won YA me knew: that we have so much that is different but there is also so much that is similar.

[I’m entering my soft goth reader era so pls check any content warnings as you will // if curious about what sort of rep is in particular titles or want a personal rec of where to start (I’ll ask you what you like!), DM me. Happy to hear about your current reads or TBRs too.]

🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🪞🪩

Aaaand I finally got myself on Libby and it wasn’t as many steps / as hard as my mind made it out to be and avail of titles is a lot better than I expected too. 🐣

The news is out, and oh my heart, I’m just so thrilled.

I’ve been a fan of Cindy Pon for ages. If you read my posts on Paste or listened to me on BookRiot, I sure did talk about her a lot. Especially Want, which I really think is one of the best YA novels of all time.

What an honor to get to work on her books now, and to see her latest land with Viking.

I have this poster in my office, from a book festival a decade ago. It’s when I first got to meet her (and wildly also @beccapodos who I’d launch our agency with and @lgibaldi who I’d write two books with?!). Means even more now.

Here’s to 2028 and to Sheen.
