Five reasons I will always recommend a first look. 1. You get a moment alone. No guests, no schedule, no one waiting on you. Just the two of you seeing each other for the first time, with room to react however you actually feel. 2. Time for portraits. Real time, not the fifteen minutes squeezed between the ceremony and the reception. We can move, we can wander, we can use the good light while it lasts. 3. The nerves settle. Something shifts once you see each other. You walk into the ceremony calm and present instead of holding your breath. 4. You get your cocktail hour back. Your people flew in for this. A first look means you are with them instead of off somewhere taking photos. 5. You can say your vows privately first. The words you were maybe too shy to say in front of two hundred people get said anyway, just to each other. Nothing about a first look takes away from the aisle. That moment still hits. You just get one more before it.

A 250-person wedding can absolutely feel intimate. It just has to be designed that way, and most aren’t. I’m not a planner, this is a planner’s job and a good one does it better than I ever could. But after hundreds of weddings I’ve watched what works: eating your dinner first, then moving table to table while people are still seated. Group portraits at the welcome party so the wedding day isn’t a receiving line. Telling your closest friends where to find you at nine. Seating that isn’t the dance floor. Big isn’t the enemy of close. Unplanned is. Bring this to your planner, and if you don’t have one yet, that’s the hire I’d make before anything else. The stress and money they save you is not a small thing. If you’re looking for suggestions on some amazing wedding planners here in Miami, reach out, I’d love to help! 🤍 Team: Cinematography: @cinestonemedia Planner: @eventsbychristy_ Photo: @jessicavilchezphoto Church: @cotlf Venue: @dupontbuilding Dress: @zuhairmuradofficial @everafter_miami HMU: @glammedupbygabby Tux: @sartori_amici Getting Ready: @trumpdoral Content Creator: @biancabesocial Catering: @sogno_elite_events Florals: @alavisheventdesign Linens: @nuagedesignsinc @decoration_by_cecilia DJ/Lighting/Production: @eventfactor @djcobaseventfactor Seating Chart: @miamiwritesco Draping: @alavisheventdesign Stationary: @thecardcottage Custom Dance Floor: @fuegoproductionz Transportation: @aralimo Dessert: @ohmypavlova Custom Embroidered Napkins: @yolisbowtique #miamiphotographer #miamiweddingphotographer #weddingphotographer #palmbeachweddingphotographer

@jocelynlara & @joshdobbs featured on @people 🍸 A destination wedding at @thebocaraton was the grand setting for these high school sweethearts. What I loved was no matter the surrounding, Jocelyn and Josh still had a low key vibe. They were in their own world & can block out all the noise to just laugh with one another. When a couple feels like best friends, the energy of their people carries that and brightens the room. With planning by @parkerscottevents & floral design by @petalprod — the energy was paired with an overgrown garden feel that felt royal within the old world setting of their venue. One of the greatest gifts a bride can give herself on her wedding day is time. Not rushing from one thing to the next. Time to be present, have fun, trust the process, and let the day breathe. Some of my favorite wedding galleries come from brides who are simply present. Down to earth, open to the moment, and willing to slow down enough to actually enjoy the day. And honestly? A well-built timeline makes all the difference.
