This Thursday will be my last Thursday @continental.gallery. Since May 4 2017 I have spend the majority of my Thursday nights upstairs in the Gallery with a friend or two. Originally at 10:30, the first was with @bettysoo, followed by @jaimeeharris the next week, and so it went until March of 2020. Course we had @stephsins behind the bar and staying up late wasn’t as hard back then.

Even through Covid, we meet up in the virtual gallery I started via zoom. It was a weird time, but it kept up the habit and gave me something to focus on when I really needed it. When we did finally come back about a year and a quarter later, I couldn’t wait to be back up in my favorite room. I had the absolute pleasure of @jimmiedalegilmore’s company to welcome it back and now at a more reasonable time of 8.

I got to calling them musical dates. I’ve had so many friends, old and new, some heroes too, and few blind dates that blossomed into friendship along the way. I was only stood up once. Lucky for me, another friend was hanging so I just asked them to join me and we shared tunes and told stories the rest of the night. Goes to show the magic of this music community.

I can’t fully express how much these “and friends” dates have meant to me over a near decade. It’s been a profoundly special chapter in my life that I will cherish always.

That and for so many more reasons, I am so happy to be closing this chapter out with the amazing human that is @dardensmithmusic. Songwriters, teacher, author and visual artist plus a born and raised Texan to boot.
We’re gonna get into all that and more this Thursday in the Continental Gallery.

Let’s see if anyone can tell that it’s @eleanor_whitmore instead of me 🥳

Yes I am using an adorable childhood picture to promote my show because Thursday is in fact my actual birthday. How old? Who cares!! I’ve been waiting since 2015 for it to land on a Thursday again so I’m throwing a party in the @continental.gallery this week!

This Thursday I get to be join by a lot of my favorite friends. Which one? Well you’ll just have to come to find out.

Though there could be a Golden Girls reunion, and Smokey said he’d come with his Exile son. Speaking of family, Daddy and Diva are flying in. Couple other heavyweights might could pop by. Who knows who might wonder up the back stair. Hell I might start the party off during happy hour in the @continentalclubatx. @casperrawls got some pretty cool friends he’s hanging with this week too.

Oh, and of course they’ll be The Cake. Yes it has all the gluten, eggs and dairy not to mention THE BUTTER!!! Anywho. I hope you’re come join me this Thursday eve.

Rest of the drill remains the same, at least for a few more weeks anyways. Doors at 8. Show starts soonish there after. $10 bucks gets you in. @cinimod13 behind the bar. @we_dahomies hit at 10:30PM.
