This Sunday, KARATE BOOGALOO live at the Caterpillar Club.

Sitting at the core of Melbourne’s burgeoning movement of cinematic instrumental soul, Karate Boogaloo’s roots go deep into the fabric of the DIY soul. A mainstay of the Melbourne underground for longer than a decade, this world class four piece takes inspiration from the great small combo instrumental bands à la Booker T & The MG’s and The Meters. We welcome them to the Caterpillar Club stage at 9:30pm for their only stop on a jam-packed national tour run.

CC Residents @cinta and Gonz will also be spinning vinyl, keeping the groove join late into the night.

Doors open 5pm, and as always, free entry and all are welcome.

@surprisechef (Surprise Chef) and @cinta.tee (Cinta) tearing up @crowbarsyd (Crowbar) this past Friday evening - 25.09.26

This performance was in celebration of Surprise Chef's new record entitled 'Frogs In a Pond' out next month on @concordjazz (Concord Jazz).

A great performance. You just have to see it for yourself. Cinematic soul in the best way from Suprise Chef with some crazy instrumentation.

And add on top of that Cinta's euphoric Neo-Soul opening it up was an amazing catalyst of what was to come.

This was a true privilege to experience.

Who said the local music scene was dead.
Not this guy!!!

Ep. 49 — Contemplative Sensuality 4

In doing this series, I‘ve come to recognize that I have a mind in sustained contemplation and a heart always in longing. The moment is simply the context that supplies the content for these natural states. I’ve come to terms that I am simply tuned this way and that I need to be more intentional in my attunement and active engagement with them. These four installments over four years are my attempt at collaging sounds that voice the overlapping intellectual and emotional elements that comprise so much of my being.
