Bringing Ableton Link synchronization across your Eurorack and studio with the Missing Link Junior & ML:2m.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Found this weird box in the kitchen drawer. No idea what it does. 🤔
Naturally, I tried plugging it into absolutely everything.
🎸 Guitar? Nope.
🍌 Bananas? Nope.
🚗 Car ignition? Nope.
🎮 PS4? Nope.
🔊 Guitar amp? Also nope.
Turns out, its only a super powerful clock that can synchronise my whole music studio and make music making fuss free. It uses Ableton Link to sync your setup wirelessly, while generating the MIDI Clock and CV/gate signals your hardware needs all at the same time.
✅ Laptop? Synced.
✅ Drum machine? Synced.
✅ Synths? Synced.
✅ Eurorack? Synced.
Maybe don’t plug it into a banana. 🍌

Missing Link Uno: CircuitHappy - Knobcon 2026
Always nice to see Ed from CircuitHappy [@circuit_happy], who showed us Missing Link Uno, the latest addition to the company’s Ableton Link clocking range. CircuitHappy devices use Wi-Fi to sync hardware, DAWs and iOS apps via Ableton Link, including Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, Pro Tools and Logic.

Exploring the hyper-realistic magic of granular sampling in just 6HP. It’s sample-based, but packs the hands-on adjustability of a full drum synth. This is the Cymbal Legio from Noise Engineering, and we're diving into part 5 of our Legio exploration series.

This module completely redefines what a compact percussion voice can do—especially when you start chaining a few Legio modules like the Kick, Snare, and Cymbal together to build a complete, living drum section.

It sounds incredible, it handles like a dream, and it’s arguably the ultimate rhythm expansion... right up until a 4-voice all-Legio setup hits you with a cool $1,240 invoice. It sounds like a great idea, but wallet-wise? Probably not the wisest move. 🎛️💸⚡️

The @ashunsoundmachines Leviasynth already packs 5 LFOs, 5 loopable envelopes, and full MIDI CC control—which is technically more modulation than any single patch should ever require. So naturally, the only logical next step was to plug in an entire Eurorack system.

Here, the @noiseeng Mimetic Digitalis is taking over the Leviasynth’s analog filter cutoff and resonance, plus modulating the volume on Oscillators 4 & 5 for some extra phase modulation movement.

Sequenced in Ableton Live and kept rock-solid with the @circuit_happy Missing Link Junior. Because why settle for built-in LFOs when you can add external CV chaos?

Be honest: Is external Eurorack CV on a synth that already has 5 LFOs absolute genius or total gear addiction? Drop your verdict below 👇

Legio Exploration Part 3 🔔⚡

Unpopular opinion: The @noiseeng Bos Legio is easily the most ridiculously versatile 8HP drum module on the rack.

Sure, you buy it expecting a solid 808 cowbell. But because it gives you three distinct synthesis engines (x0x, Additive, and FM), the real fun starts when you break out of standard drum duty.

Clocking is locked via the @circuit_happy Missing Link Junior, seamlessly syncing Ableton Live (handling the snare and open hi-hat) with the modular rig—zero friction, zero latency.

To push it into total chaos, I'm modulating Tone and Decay with the Mimetic Digitalis, routing Pitch to the Gamut Repetitor, and slamming another oscillator straight into the FM input. The result? Instant, laser-focused techno bleeps. Why settle for a normal pattern when you can patch pure cross-modulated energy? ⚡🔔

Drop a comment: Are you Team 808, or are you patching external FM into your percussion modules? 👇

Bitcrush Legio from @noiseeng isn't just a bitcrusher—it's an absolute goldmine for raw, aggressive sound design.

Instead of sweeping cutoff frequencies, the main encoder sweeps sample rate and scales resolution down to 1-bit destruction. Because it's CV-controlled and keytracks, you can modulate the crushing like pitch.

Keeping everything locked in without a single glitch is the @circuit_happy Missing Link Junior, seamlessly syncing the modular rack to the snare and clock straight out of Ableton.

If you're chasing that classic Boys Noize or Nine Inch Nails industrial grit, this setup is a must-have. Routing a rhythmic gate directly into the module to bypass or activate the crunch on beat turns standard patches into brutal, rhythmic chaos.

It’s been a week since @knobcon 14 and we’re still reveling in how much creativity, curiosity, and community happens when a bunch of synthusiasts come together for a weekend, and how much that time each year creates fuel for more creativity and connection via synthesis. We only wish people who don’t know anything about synths could also experience and understand the joy here.

We hold so much love for and are so inspired by this community of creators. Keep beeping and blooping! Until next year ✌🏽🎛️

Wireless sync is this easy with the Missing Link. The Missing Link makes it simple to get your studio talking wirelessly. It can create its own Wi-Fi network, so you can sync your hardware without needing a router or internet connection. Or, if you already have a network running, just connect the Missing Link to your existing Wi-Fi.
From there, Ableton Link handles the wireless timing! Synths, drum machines, Eurorack and your DAW — all working together without the sync cable spaghetti. Head to our YouTube for more info - link in bio ⬆️

Finally got around to spending some quality time in the studio with the @circuit_happy Missing Link Junior. 🎛️⚡️

This desktop box acts as its own Wi-Fi Access Point, bridging Ableton Link wirelessly straight to your setup without the hassle of configuring laggy ad-hoc networks.

Since this is the desktop unit, you still need CV patch cables running out of the box into your rack to send master clock, stop, and reset signals. If you want a 100% wireless setup across your desk, you can opt for the Eurorack version to keep everything mounted inside your case.

I specifically chose the desktop version because it features a nice big LCD screen and adds a dedicated MIDI output alongside CV, giving the whole rig way more routing flexibility outside the case!

In this clip, Ableton takes care of the acid synth lines and claps, while the modular drives the rest—all locked in seamless grid sync.

How are you currently handling clock sync between your DAW and hardware? Drop your setup below! 👇
