For the past few years tattooing in Detroit, I’ve made it a point to maintain a space where tattooing can remain sacred and at more reasonable price than artists at my level of skill. I always welcome others into my home as they welcome my art into their vessel. I respect and reciprocate that trust.
With an open mind, I choose to listen, empathize and share the moment with all of my clients as they are friends.
I wish for nothing more than to maintain that quality of work in my lifetime as a tattooer. More so, as an artist, an alchemist, a medium, an archive for memory and memento of our personal mythology as humans.
Even if I don’t know other people well, I don’t judge because that is how I wish to be treated. There is enough trauma we have endured existing in this world and remembering that love and understanding between each other in this world is all we have. It’s never been about money, it’s been about heart.
Everything I have in my life is only made real by everyone who’s ever believed in my dreams- to have dropped coins into that wishing well. Nobody can capitalize on soul.
It is a dream that we all share, an experience we are all experiencing.
Thank you for sharing this with me.
An impact that lasts just as the ink under our skin lasts in this lifetime.
Thank you Detroit
