Next up is Liverpool’s finest - Yousef.

Yousef – Way Of Life (Loz Mix)
Carioca Records

This one takes me straight back to The Masque, Liverpool — Theatre Room, Circus nights. 🖤

Carioca was Yousef’s first label, before Circus became the label and club institution we all know.

I used to regularly make the trip over for those monthly nights, and this record absolutely exploded on that dancefloor.

What always set Yousef apart for me was his DJing. Proper control of a room, knowing exactly when to push it and when to let a groove breathe, encompassing many genres.

Some records you hear… others put you straight back in the room.

This is definitely one of them.

Who remembers the Circus nights at The Masque?
And what record takes you straight back to your favourite dancefloor memory?

CIRCUIT LIVE — THIS WEEK

BONTAN

Some careers explode overnight. Others are built one dancefloor at a time.

Bontan belongs to the second category.

Andrew Phillips started out as a resident DJ around Southport, learning the job in small rooms before his productions suddenly started travelling much further than he did.

Then came that remix.

Josh Butler’s Got A Feeling.

Six weeks at number one on Beatport and one of those records that suddenly put a name on everybody’s radar.

But Bontan didn’t stop there.

Circus Recordings, 20/20 Vision, Elrow, Crosstown Rebels, Defected, NO ART and, of course, Hot Creations.

The First Time became Hot Creations’ biggest-selling record of 2017 and helped make Bontan Beatport’s highest-selling artist across all genres that year.

Quite a trajectory for a kid who started behind the decks in Southport.

What makes the story interesting is that the sound kept evolving too.

More percussion, more organic elements, deeper grooves, while keeping that instinct for records made first and foremost for a dancefloor.

Essential Mix, Coachella, clubs and festivals around the world followed, but the formula remains remarkably simple.

Drums, groove and seriously effective house music.

Bontan, it was about time.

Welcome to Circuit Live.

Follow the records, the cities, the dancefloors and everything that comes next on Circuit.

And if he’s passing through your city, catch him if you can.

This is not opinion. This is data.

Follow the sound. Find your people. Live the moment.
