A moment of immense gratitude and quiet pride: The Alon Cabinet has been honored by Tatler’s Philippines editors this Manila FAME 2026.

Behind every curve and contour lies a story of quiet dedication, craft, and patience. A Divine anointing.

Two years in the making. A vision realized.

In October 2024, Matahom Likha+ quietly stepped into the world with a vision to honor craft and design.

Today, in October 2026, we mark a milestone joining a distinguished community of creatives for our very first showcase at Manila FAME.

#manilafame2026 #tatler #filipinodesign #quietluxury #matahomlikha

Our founders, Principal Designer IDr. Joy Merryl Ngo and Principal Fabricator Aila May Lim, could never have imagined just how unforgettable their first Manila FAME would be.

To share the stage with such an extraordinary community of Filipino creatives has been both a milestone and a deeply humbling privilege.

The people behind the Alon Cabinet

In 2021, entrepreneurs Laurence Siao and Dexter Ngo commissioned our Co-Founder Joy Ngo to create bespoke pieces for their space, including what would become the centerpiece of the Dalangin Collection: the Alon Cabinet.

The Challenge: A design so complex and meticulous, few fabricators dared to accept it.

The Catalyst: Thanks to a recommendation from Angelie Uy to Laurence, Joy connected with Aila Lim of Dedipo Furniture.

What began as a bold design challenge evolved into a masterclass in craft and ultimately, the founding of Matahom Likha+.

Leading the transition toward a circular economy 🏆🌾

We extend our warmest congratulations to Bambuhay (D' Sustainable Planet) for emerging as one of the winners of the Sustainability Solutions Exchange (SSX) 2026 Start-Up Pitching Competition Finals: "Future Proof: The Green Innovation Pitch."

During the competition, Bambuhay presented market-ready circular innovations leveraging indigenous bamboo technology—including the world's first plantable bamboo toothbrush embedded with native tree and bamboo seeds. Through this innovation and ongoing reforestation partnerships with local farming communities, Bambuhay has already contributed to planting over 194,000 trees and bamboo plants across the Philippines.

Their sustainable enterprise model effectively addresses plastic waste and deforestation while empowering rural communities and advancing scalable, commercial solutions for global environmental challenges.

Thank you for being the heart and soul of Manila FAME 2026.

True design, much like nature, finds its fullest expression when given room to bloom. Every piece showcased this year was a testament to the hands, minds, and spirits that nurtured our creative roots—and because of your belief, our stories have taken root and flourished further across the global stage.

This creative journey is extraordinary because we walk it together.

Even as the exhibition doors close, the beauty we’ve cultivated continues to grow. We look forward to the road ahead, where new stories await. Until we meet again to celebrate a historic milestone at the 75th edition of Manila FAME. 🇵🇭🌱✨
