the rocket rese takeover continues

we’ve covered rese a couple of times on the page before, but recently he’s had some insane drops and co-signs that warrant another shoutout. rese’s “miss my choppa” has nearly a million streams on spotify now which is so crazy to me because when we initially posted rocket the song had just dropped

it’s one of the main first times in recent memory i’ve watched what’s been discussed as hardstyle trap gain crazy recognition in the underground. i remember seeing the clips of it being played at the boxing gym, then from there diplo commented that the song’s “generational,” and then came likes on the post from 2hollis and “euphoria” superstar zendaya. crazy co-signs for a hit song that blows you up

rese’s latest ep “let ya speakers bl**d” had two of my favorite newer tracks of his in “wake me up” and “regular.” “wake me up” is your classic thumping rese trap song. with booming bass kicks his deep voice is sure to pack a punch in any car speaker. “regular” is where he switches up his classic style for more of a dance track in some ways. in my opinion one of the most impressive parts about rese is how unique his deep voice is so to see him showcase that a little more melodically is a pleasant surprise

some of my favorite drops from rese are his singles. one of his latest singles, “baptized,” has so many cool little elements of de*th metal and screamo. sosmula hops on this track with rese and gives a seamless lighter compliment to rese’s thundering low voice. I love seeing rese explore different production samples to evolve his sound

what we’re seeing from him continues to be something i wanna hear wayyyyy more artists in the underground delve into with their sound. it’s energetic and chaotic and the energy makes me want to see what’s next

what do y’all think? rocket’s been going up and honestly alongside the noisier music in the underground i think he does it some of the best. thoughts? have you tapped into his latest ep? lmk familia <3

ik y’all might’ve seen rese on your feeds earlier. his blend of hardstyle and trap has made waves 💛

i really enjoyed my last time listening to rese’s music so i was really excited to hear what he had cooking on his upcoming album. rese starts off with a bang (quite literally) with “miss my choppa.” i had to turn down my volume after the initial bass kick… it took me back to my first listen of “pop out” on “music.” he’s not hiding the sound he’s going for and that’s something i respect. just be prepared for some sound LOL. it’s clear how people online are anointing the sound as “edm hardstyle” … lmk what y’all think on that

rese takes the tempo back a little bit on “locka,” flexing different brands he has on him, various sound effects, and plenty of ad-libs. it drags a little bit in parts, but it’s most likely due to the fact that i’m so used to his upbeat, fast-paced production. i would love to see him play with slower tempos a lot more in his future projects. it’s a pretty nice change of tempo regardless

although rese is from the east coast, the chicago trap influence is apparent through and through. theres portions of these songs where he sounds just like early chief keef just like his earlier projects, from the trapaholics ad-libs to his deep voice. lil2posh deserves a shoutout for his contribution to “jockin” as well - his higher pitched verse was a good juxtaposition to rese’s hooks

rocket rese isn’t afraid to experiment with his music in order to incorporate different genres like edm and hardstyle. certainly it has people talking. people online are calling it an evolution or adjacent sound to someone like 2slimey. this thing’s got me excited honestly about the future of rese’s career. let me know what y’all think and if you’ve got any opinions on this type of sound for the underground overall

thoughts on it being coined as “edm hardstyle” type rap? will yall be tuning into this project? lmk below <3

rocket is one of the most fun east coast drill artists out rn imo

growing up in the new york city area, rese was right at the epicenter of the rise of ny drill and drill rap as a whole. it’s very evident that he honors his roots with ny drill elements frequently showcased, but it’s arguably his inclusion of chicago drill that stands out more

the first thing that I thought when I was listening to him was how similar he sounded to chicago artists like chief keef and capo. his deep voice is almost indistinguishable from the two especially in songs like “shoutout jesus christ.” his ability to use that voice along with the bouncier ny drill flows make him a perfect example of “hybrid” drill

i’m not the only one who sees the similarities between him and other chicago drill artists. there are many comments throughout his performances comparing him to sosa, who even showed him some love when he liked a recent picture on his ig

i love how rese can fuse ny sliding 808’s to create an addictive drill hybrid. “errywhere” with sematary started rese’s 2026 off with a bang. he’s just getting started in terms of dropping new music in
2026. this latest drop, “cash out” with roomtrash6 and cybernene, came with one of the best co-signs rese has had yet

tons more being discussed about his new song right now on twitter but if you’re a fan of drill i most definitely will recommend rese to you. what do y’all think about artists such as rese blending and repurposing sounds and aesthetics from the past like this? are you a fan? lmk below family; love y’all <3
