Six squash courts and four classrooms under one roof... Episode 192 | Julian H. Robertson Jr. CitySquash Center 👥 @gluckplus @citysquash In this clip, Charlie Kaplan of GLUCK+ breaks down the program behind the CitySquash Center. CitySquash teaches kids squash, and it also tutors and mentors them in their schoolwork. The building had to support all of it. At its core, the building is simple. It holds six squash courts, each 21 feet wide and 32 feet long, with at least 18 to 20 feet of clear ceiling height. Add four classrooms at about 650 square feet each, locker rooms for kids moving between activities, and office space for the staff. It all fits in roughly 15,000 square feet, including the cellar, or about 13,000 square feet of usable space. For a program this hands-on, every square foot has a job. Walk past this facade and the picture changes... Episode 192 | Julian H. Robertson Jr. CitySquash Center 👥 @gluckplus @citysquash In this clip, Charlie Kaplan of GLUCK+ walks through how the CitySquash Center’s facade began. The team designed it on their computers, cut it from cardboard on a laser cutter, and folded it by hand. That small model became the concept for the building’s primary facade. The idea is perforated metal, corrugated into a series of V shapes. Each side of the V is perforated with a different image of CitySquash members in action. Walk down Lorillard Place and you see one image. Keep walking and it starts to fade as a second image comes into focus, growing sharper with every step. With the squash courts set above street level, the facade gives the building a different kind of transparency. It shows the neighborhood the young people inside. Episode 192 is out tomorrow! Perforated Metal | @citysquash 👥 @gluck_plus In this episode, Cherise is joined by Charlie Kaplan, LEED AP and Principal at GLUCK+ in New York City. They discuss the Julian H. Robertson Jr. CitySquash Center in the Bronx. The Julian H. Robertson Jr. CitySquash Center provides a new home for CitySquash, a nonprofit after-school enrichment program supporting young people from economically disadvantaged households in their academic, athletic, and personal development. With the courts positioned above street level, the primary façade takes a different approach to transparency. A folded, perforated metal surface incorporates images of CitySquash members in action, creating a shifting visual effect as pedestrians move along the sidewalk. Follow the link in bio to learn more. This past weekend, SBSOS students competed in the West Coast Team Classic at Stanford University alongside students from our sister programs: Steel City Squash, SquashDrive, CitySquash, Racquet Up Detroit, and Mission Success Houston. The event brought students from across the country together for several days of squash, competition, and connection. Our students gained valuable match experience and built friendships with peers from other programs. A huge thank you to SquashDrive for organizing this incredible event and bringing everyone together. Another successful weekend at Stanford is in the books, and we are already looking forward to next year!

Last week, 1️⃣8️⃣ students made the trip to Charlottesville, VA for the 3rd annual College Squash Camp @boarsheadresort and UVA - and it was one for the books! 🎉 Over the course of the week, students trained on-court with top-level coaching, got a real feel for what college squash training looks like day-to-day, and built relationships with teammates from member programs across the country. None of it would’ve been possible without the leadership of our incredible coaches, Glen Wilson of @cincysquashacademy and Edgardo Gonzalez of @citysquash, who brought their expertise and energy to every session. Huge thanks as well to @brigey_lux for building the students through fitness sessions all week long. Swipe through to see highlights ➡️ Thank you to @boarsheadresort for hosting us! #SEA #collegesquashcamp #UVA #squashfamily

What an unforgettable weekend! We were thrilled to bring together 60+ alumni from member programs across the SEA network for our 2026 SEA Alumni Reunion, held over Saturday and Sunday. The weekend was filled with reconnecting, friendly competition, professional development, and celebrating the incredible community that continues to grow long after graduation. From networking sessions and workshops to alumni squash matches, award presentations, and shared meals, it was amazing to see alumni from so many different programs come together under one roof. A huge thank you to our staff and every alumnus who traveled near and far to spend the weekend with us. Also thank you to #Citysquash for hosting the event this year. Hope to see you all again next year! #SEAAlumni #SquashEducationAlliance #SEAReunion2026 #SquashCommunity
