These dogs may have started life in different countries, but they all ended up in the same place: Spain!

The story begins with an unneutered dog named Cooper who ended up having a litter. Bambam was born into Cooper’s second litter and was initially given to someone who was struggling with depression and addiction. Unfortunately, this person couldn’t care for him, and Bambam ended up being neglected. When the original owner realized the living conditions were poor, he immediately took the puppy back.

During a trip to Istanbul, Elif visited her close friend and noticed a second dog playing wonderfully with Cooper. She asked what was going on, and he explained the situation. He told her that Bambam was an incredible dog and he could never bring himself to give him away to a stranger online. However, he said he would trust her to take him.

At the time, Elif was living in Barcelona with her boyfriend, Fabio. They had been talking about getting a dog and planning to visit shelters, but they just hadn’t found the time. When the offer was made, Elif sent a photo of Bambam to Fabio and asked if they should adopt him. Fabio immediately replied saying he was already in love. Even though she had no idea how the international adoption process worked, Elif decided right away that she would take this sweet boy to Barcelona.

Because Elif can be quite impatient, she started the adoption process that very same day, and Bambam got his first vaccine. The required waiting period for international travel began. For a while, her friends in Istanbul looked after him. However, when left alone, he developed separation anxiety and started chewing on things. To help him, they sent him to a wonderful dog trainer. Knowing Bambam was moving to Spain, the trainer not only crate trained him for the flight but also taught him commands in Spanish, as Fabio didn’t speak any Turkish. Bambam learned some great tricks, got entirely comfortable with his crate, and then went to stay with Elif’s mom in Mersin for the remainder of the waiting period.

Catching up on the 2016 trend

2016 was the year I started DJ’ing as a hobby

I did not start @elifmusique project yet, I was just playing at some friends bars b2b with a partner as Elif Tanverdi

I still had my travel, music and lifestyle blog cizenbayan but I was leaning more and more into music

DJing as ELIF wouldn’t start until 2018 and no I did not start my journey with a big influencer instagram account, I started from scratch, I did not want to get booked because I had a lot of followers, I wanted to grow with my music!

I was switching from playing b2b with a partner - who told me “you should play alone otherwise people will think you don’t know how to DJ because you are a girl” - to playing my first solo DJ set at a local festival - an opening slot 🥹

Alongside my content creation and projects with lots of different brands - which already started to make me feel weird because over the years it turned into something where I was basically telling people to buy more stuff without telling them to buy more stuff - I was doing lots of other things:

I was teaching yoga in the Caribbean for Yacht Week
I was invited to Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal as press
I went to my first Burn, first Coachella, first Fusion - none of them to play of course- just to dance an explore !
We also had lots of fun festivals in Turkey

The following year I was going to turn 30 and I was going to make THE decision to switch full time to music and leave my blog which i had for about 7-8 years behind

2016 was the year I was transitioning

When I was trying to find myself at the age of 29 a lot of unfortunate events were happening in Turkey, I remember always staying longer wherever I was, not wanting to come back home

I spent a lot of time In NYC, in California, in Dubai, in Berlin, in the Caribbean…
I traveled to Vietnam, Cambodia

Turkish Lira was in decline but not so extreme like today so it was still possible for a middle class young woman to travel

Without knowing where it would lead me I was just listening to my heart, enjoying the ride, meeting lots of people and enjoying learning everything about mixing music

Can’t believe it’s been 10 years

Mart ayında ilkini gerçekleştirdiğimiz Barselona İlham Buluşmaları’nın ikincisi bu hafta gerçekleşiyor 💙

Bu buluşma, ilhamımı kaybettiğim, yönümü aradığım bir dönemden çıktı. Barselona’ya taşındığımda, bir süredir uzaktan hayranlıkla izlediğim, kendi yolunu çizmiş, işlerini markaya dönüştürmüş, başka kadınlara da ilham olan kadınların hikayelerini daha yakından duymaya duyduğum merakla ilk adımı attım. @psk.kevsercakmak elimden tuttu ve birlikte yola çıktık.

Hepimizin hikâyesi farklı ama hissettiklerimiz o kadar benzer ki… Zorlandığımız, düştüğümüz, vazgeçmeyi düşündüğümüz anlar oluyor ama özellikle biz kadınlar bir şekilde her seferinde yeniden kalkmanın yolunu buluyoruz. Ve bazen bir başkasının hikâyesi, tam da ihtiyacımız olan ışığı yakabiliyor 💓

eski blogunun sıkı takipçilerinden biri olup şimdi başarıları ve müziğiyle dünyaya açılan @elifmusique / @cizenbayan ve
sanatıyla, enerjisiyle, çok yönlülüğü ile yeni mekanıyla, kendi yolunu çizerken başkalarına da ilham olan @ash_barcelona ile birlikte olacağız.
