Author Kristen L. Berry gave us a lot to talk about with her debut novel We Don’t Talk About Carol—and we definitely dove into all of the topics!

One of our favorite comments of the night was captured on video—and you can scroll through to see it! [@cjbclassy never fails to make us laugh!]

And @kristenlberry—you really played with our minds during the scene where Sydney heard music coming from the other room! Some of us were on the edge of our seats fully expecting Michael to be there…

A quick page-turner that captured the attention of this little book club just down the road from where this story was set. Every page had us eager to find out what happened next—and to know the real reasons why nobody talked about Carol!

Grace and Rocky on the big screen got a big thumbs down (IYKYK) from this book club crew!

So fun to read @andyweirofficial’s book together in February and then to see it brought to life in this way tonight! 🚀🧑‍🚀🪐💫🪨

What do you do when @ashleyelston comes to @quailridgebooks? You snag tickets, gather a few book club friends, and head to Raleigh to support her (and fan-girl just a little bit)!

From glimpses into her writing process (it involves butcher paper) and preferred writing location (her sofa) to learning about her switch from YA to adult thrillers and hearing about the tears she shed over this book, @funamy, @cjbclassy, @hnorris13, and @mmacumber hung on every word.

And then they had the opportunity to meet Ashley (finally in person), get their books signed, and reminisce about our absolutely amazing book club meeting where she Zoomed with us and we chatted all about First Lie Wins!

Now we’re eager to dive into Anatomy of an Alibi so we can see what this talented writer has up her sleeve for us this time!

Our book club took “getting into character” to the next level this Halloween weekend! From Taylor Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia (“Keeping it 100 on the land, the sea, the sky…”) to Lady Diana in her iconic sheep sweater, The Devil Wears Chanel, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and more, our members fully embraced pop culture, drama, humor, and imagination!

Who says characters only live on the page or screen? This weekend, they came to life in full costume right here in Durham and Orange Counties!

Some loved it. Some expected more mystery. Some cried. Some would have put it down if it hadn’t been for book club. And these all-over-the-place thoughts, feelings, and opinions certainly made for a lively, engaging, and thoughtful discussion about this month’s read—@amandapetersauthor’s The Berry Pickers!

Have you read it? What did you think? We’d love to hear!

Just one of the several @jlofdoc Home Meetings that took place on Wednesday—and at this house alone, there were 10 JLDOC Book Club members in attendance! Thanks to @1merdb for welcoming us into her home, @cjbclassy for co-hosting, and @whiterad for facilitating!

If you’re a book clubber who attended a March Home Meeting, chime in and tell us which one! We hope your meeting was as productive, delicious, engaging, and fun as this one was!

This was such a fun book club with @jlofdoc, @jldocbookclub, and @jldocsupperclub! We read “Mastering the Art of French Murder” by @colleengleason and we even chatted with Colleen while she was waiting for her next flight in the Delta Lounge!

Thank you so much for chatting with us about this cool series, we're so thankful you gave us your time!🫶

We made alllll the fun french dishes like crème brûlée, chicken provençal, poulet rôti, flamiche aux poireaux, and so much more! Thank you so much to Michelle, Stephanie, and Connolly for working so hard to organize a most special combined #supperclub and #bookclub. 🥖🇫🇷
