UNILATERAL LOWER BODY TRAINING: We utilize bilateral training (I.e., Squat and deadlift variations) but when we are looking for exercises that transfer the field/court the fastest we implement Unilateral training! Putting the focus on one leg at a time during our training allows our athletes to check the box of increasing strength and mobility in the lower body while increasing stability in all three planes! It’s essential for the improvement of speed and balance and the prevention of injury Split stance and single leg training allows aggressive lower body work for athletes who might otherwise not be able or feel comfortable training hard in the typical weight room movements. The actions of the pelvic stabilizers are different in a single-leg stance than in a double-leg stance. Split stance and single leg exercises force the glutes, adductors, and quadratus lumborum, to operate as stabilizers, which are critical to increasing speed and power while decreasing risk of injury, especially in the lower back! There doesn’t need to be a battle of single leg vs double leg training. They both work. Use every tool available.

🔥SHOULDER STABILITY: We incorporate many different strategies in our overhead athletes (Volleyball, Tennis, Quaterbacks, Baseball, Softball) program to promote healthy and injury resistant shoulders! One method we utilize is dynamic stability! The ability to rapidly contract and relax is vital for building explosive upper body power BUT the ability to stabilize and absorb force is just as important! A fast car without brakes stays in the shop! Shown in this video is a few exercises some of our athletes will perform to establish this! These are usually used for activation before practice/games and also can be used as rehab/arm care! Train with the best to be the best!
