This group of seven energetic and smart students gave up ND football games to spend their Fall Junior semester gaining experience in our nation’s capital. Their time in the capital brought a range of experiences, challenges, and personal growth.

Congrats on your achievement, and we look forward to seeing how you grow!

It truly has been an amazing fall semester and we’ve loved taking y’all throughout our days and telling y’all about our internships and lives. With that being said, we miss South Bend and are very much excited to return to our lives on campus (or continue our time abroad, for those of us spending spring semester abroad as well!). Our contact information can be found in our respective highlights, so feel free to reach out with any questions!

With our finals behind us and internships wrapping up, it’s come time for our cohort to say goodbye (for now) to D.C. We’ve got a couple more spotlights and memories to share with you before we go, but our time here has come to a close.

Meet Corey, one of our juniors this semester! Read more about his D.C. ambitions below!

I chose the Washington program for many reasons. In addition to being close to home, the Washington program has granted me the opportunity to work alongside political professionals, and what better place to do that than the nation’s capital! This program is held in high regard, and participating in it was a no-brainer.

Serving as the financial advisory intern this semester at Cornerstone Government Consulting, I have learned that an effective campaign strategy involves many different elements. In order to make yourself a formidable candidate to run or maintain your seat in Congress, you must possess a range of qualities, being well-rounded in critical issues is essential!

My favorite part about being in DC is the culture. Growing up in Baltimore, there are a lot of similarities between the two, and I’m excited to be back and immersed in city life.

FWOC with the Fall 2023 cohort of the Notre Dame Washington Program! We’ve been exploring all over the D.C. area from Saturday and had a jam-packed orientation this past week. With our class orientation and etiquette lunch on Monday, walking tour with Reverend Hyde on Tuesday, scavenger hunt on Wednesday, and our first day of classes on Thursday, this week has definitely been the best way to start our semester in Washington. We can’t wait to share what comes next, so please stay tuned for more updates!

In honor of this weekend’s ND v Navy matchup in Dublin, we will be highlighting scenes from our past Global Immersions to Ireland. This trip is in conjunction with a Writing and Rhetoric class and encourages scholars to grow as global citizens and veteran travelers.
First up, our 2022 trip with cohorts 8 and 9. Scholars completed a famine hike in Connemara with archeologist Michael Gibbons.
We are so grateful for the teams on the ground in Ireland for making this immersion experience so robust and authentic.
Stay tuned for other trips and cohorts as we cheer on the Fighting Irish from afar #goirish #beatNavy @unddublin @undkylemore @ndwritingcenter @eimear.clowrydelaney @lisa.caulfield
