POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
firstly, camp is 2 full days. im AWARE in the same outfit a LOT, im not dirty, just a lot of photos

and second; I was asked “What Alopeciapalooza was the most influential for you?”, and my answer was this year (2026).

This year I got to enjoy a weekend away with people like me. These aren’t just “people” to me though. I got to spend the weekend with my girlfriend, my life long friends, and the kids, who i view as my own. i get to show everybody everyday at camp who I am. I am outgoing, caring, and I try to be an inspiration to those around me. These children are the future. My goal at Alopeciapalooza is to ensure these children are confident in who they are and to love themselves. I have learned so much from these kids. here are a few things i have learned, and been told by these children this weekend

1) I talk a lot
2) I break promises about going on the zip line
3) I break promises about if I’ll be at breakfast at 7:30
4) I am “the betrayer” and have been called that for 7 months

some others that stuck to me where

5) “you always show up, even if it’s late”
6) “youre so fun to be around, so so so so so fun”
7) “i love when we go on late night walks”
8) “im so happy you’re here”
9) “i wish we could stay longer”
10) “i love when you’re here for us”

and lastly

“Owen made us have a chalk eating competition”

no matter where I am, what I’m doing, or who I’m with, I aspire to be there for whoever needs me. God chose me to have Alopecia, and with my gift I chose to represent all those who can’t represent themselves. I will forever be here for these children, friends, and loved ones. I wouldn’t change any of this for the world.

Cap kid camp 2026
This year at camp my speech topic was how to find your people. After years of being bullied fearing I would never find the people who understood me for me I stopped searching and it just let it happen.

I’m so proud of myself and full of joy for finding the people who love me no matter what!

This speech brought out a side of me I had been searching for a long time to find so I thought I’d share some parts!

“It’s all about finding people who help you see yourself differently.
I’ve been lucky enough to find a lot of those people.”

“Alopecia doesn’t get to decide whether you make friends.
It doesn’t decide whether you fall in love.
It doesn’t decide whether you become an athlete, a teacher, a coach, a doctor, an artist, or anything else you dream about becoming.”

“Only you get to decide who you are.”

Another Alopeciapalooza in the books 🧡

There’s something so special about being surrounded by people who just get it.

This year, I got to be part of a parents workshop that was so much more meaningful than I expected. I had the opportunity to share more about my upbringing, how it impacted my experience and shaped the person I am today. I also got to hear so many different perspectives on Alopecia, parenting, life, and everything in between.

I’m forever grateful that alopecia has brought so many incredible people into my life. Camp was filled with tears, lots of laughter, and conversations I’ll carry with me years to come.

Until next year, fam 🫶🏽
