Well this one’s special for me. In 5 years, I’ve never been able to share a show with my dad for a number of reasons but that changes today. A huge thank you to @indian_ranch and @ckcommgroup for everything this year and accommodating my dad for the show.

We are excited for @blackberrysmoke and @codyparks_thedirtysouth

We got to check out some sound check and man oh man are we psyched!

Follow us all day for all the fun!

Chris Vos told me before @therecordcompany show @lowellsummermusic that once you get onstage, you deal with whatever the night gives you.

He happened to mention rain.

A few days later I was standing at Boarding House Park trying to keep my camera dry while his band went to work.

Heavy on the Roll, my new piece on The Record Company, is up now on Ink on the Merrimack.

We may be missing one of the greatest lead singers of all time today in @raulmalo01 but what a treat to have @jamesotto and @emilywestofficial fronting the boys!

We look forward to seeing you on the Lake this afternoon!

I caught up with Bill Janovitz ahead of @buffalotomband Riverfest set at Salisbury Beach to talk about the band, the years behind them and why they might be playing better than ever. Bill is a hell of a writer, and that came through even in the way he answered my questions. Thoughtful, funny and never afraid to be direct.

I've always been interested in what separates a good concert from one you remember years later.

Before Ripe heads to the Lowell Summer Music Series, I sat down with Robbie Wulfsohn to talk about that question, how the band thinks about the audience, and why every show is different.

It's the first piece in my Lowell Summer Music Series coverage, and I think it's a pretty good introduction to a band that's spent more than a decade building a reputation as one of the best live acts around.

I’m going to be spending some time at the Lowell Summer Music Series over the next few weeks, covering shows, taking photos and hopefully talking with a few of the artists along the way.
To kick things off, I spoke with James Macdonald about what goes into running the series and how it has lasted 36 years at Boarding House Park.
James knows the live music business inside and out, but what stood out most was how much he values the community around the series. Give it a read. -Link in Bio

Well this is certainly something you want to see! The Mavericks are heading out on tour with James Otto and Emily West joining the band.

I’m hesitant to say they are filling the shoes of Raul Malo because those shoes I fear are far too big, but they will definitely be adding to the experience.

Will you be seeing this tour? I know we sure as hell will be!
