POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We’re so honoured to have had @ckfromthewyld travel such a long way to come and visit us and our animals

We really enjoyed showing him our reptiles and invertebrates, before then discussing the safe handling and interaction with various tarantula species

@ckfromthewyld has an incredible collection of venomous snakes, including cobras, mambas and an inland taipan

How incredible is that!?!

Now those snakes demand serious respect!…

But because of his knowledge, experience and long term exposure, @ckfromthewyld is completely familiar and comfortable around them

Whereas we would be petrified!

Interestingly, @ckfromthewyld isn’t too keen on spiders

So with our knowledge, experience and exposure we were able to demonstrate safe handling as well as discuss various species in detail

Do you think we managed to get him to hold one in the end?

You’ll have to stay tuned and keep an eye on our content as we share plenty of clips from his visit over the coming weeks!

Make sure you follow both @school_of_exotics and @ckfromthewyld

It was such a pleasure to meet him. A real gent, who we enjoyed sharing our passions with… along with learning about his too!!

Hopefully one day soon, we’ll travel to his facility to learn all about his impressive collection of venomous snakes!!

Stay tuned

And follow along for more

🌊🐍 A rare encounter on the beaches of Phuket! 🇹🇭

Stumbled across a white-lipped banded sea krait right on the beach! These incredible marine snakes are highly venomous, spending much of their lives hunting underwater before coming ashore to rest, digest and lay eggs.

Beautiful, perfectly adapted, and definitely not something you want to handle carelessly! 🤯🐍

Nature never stops surprising me. 🌏

💧🐍 A Deadly Sip ☠️

The Borneo keel viper (Tropidolaemus subannulatus) pauses for a drink—but don’t let the beauty fool you. This arboreal predator is venomous, perfectly adapted to life high in Southeast Asia’s rainforest canopy. 🌿

☠️ Did you know? Its heat-sensing pits help detect warm-blooded prey, even in low light.

Nature’s most dangerous hunters don’t always look fierce. Sometimes, they’re simply taking a drink. 💚

🐉 Nature’s living masterpiece. 🌿🐍

The Variable Bush Viper (Atheris squamigera) — armed with scales like a dragon and colours that look almost unreal. One of Africa’s most stunning vipers, perfectly designed to disappear into the forest.

Beauty with a bite. 💚🔥
