Why do I put in the work (and it’s a lot of work) of selling at markets when I can sell online? Because it brings me JOY ✨one of my favorite things about @modernvintage_by_mckensey is the opportunity to be in community and witness how others connect and relate to things I create ✨

No words can express our love & gratitude to every single one of you who ordered & created bouquets with us! Our first Valentine’s Day (weekend) was incredible thanks to all of you!

We hope you are staring at some beautiful blooms today and cuddled up with the ones you love...❤️

(Our shop is closed until Wednesday for some serious catch up time - last photo are three ladies who deserve a few days off as they worked super hard to keep our operations moving through the V-Day storm - not pictured was our amazing delivery crew, we will get a “family” pic soon 🤪)...

Love to you all! Xoxo - Peaceful Petals

UNITY // 14.3

the maturity in unity

in one faith and one God, we all hold on to this hope of togetherness; that though we may see differently, we believe the same. a true righteousness chooses the desire to extend grace over inward-looking. it takes being confident in God’s convictions to set aside your entitlements; a maturity that unity is more important than being right.
as brothers and sisters in Christ, we should be striving to function as one body. we are equipped in various ways to work as one and indicate to others what it looks like to stand in that fullness of unity.

A word I hate to hear, and hate even more to experience. Its knocking at my door, asking permission to enter in again.
It’s been inside my mind before, roaming around freely, unconstrained
Distorting the truth, isolating me
It has a certain power, not in itself, but in the power I allow it to have, to weigh me down
I can’t eat
I can’t function
An abstract thought taking on a physical burden, a physical pain.
A once foreign feeling, has become familiar
Looking for relief, anything to ease my hurt
I cry for help, I scream for deliverance, for peace of mind
He hears me, and with a nurturing nature, cradles me in
He calms me with saying my name gently, again refreshing my memory with the truth, words soothing to my spirit
And within a moment
My crippling anxiety is gone and I can rest.
Him readily available for the next time I cry out and need reminding of His love for me.

“So we can confidently say, ‘The LORD is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:6

“I called to the LORD and He answered me, He delivered me from all of my fears.” Psalms 34:4

Letting go, to let me live. Something I have been thinking about is how much pressure I put on myself to make everybody happy all the time. It gets really exhausting to play the part that everyone expects me to be. What people don’t realize is when I conform to other peoples standards, I lose myself in the process. It becomes hard for me to see clearly who I am and where to put my identity. I start to believe that I am only what others perceive me as. I become uneasy when I make a mistake and let someone down. I hate disappointing people. But people simply need to love me for me. I know God has so much grace for me, and so I’m no longer worried about what others think of me. Only Gods opinion of me matters at the end of the day. I’ll never be the final product, but forever a work in progress, getting one step closer each day as God works on me more and more.
