🫀 The Love Trials by @clairefraiseauthor 🪓 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I cannot recommend this book enough!! Claire describes this book as Criminal Minds x Supernatural x Saw & usually when an artist or creator compares their work to other popular pieces of media I am sooooo dubious. But this really is all those things wrapped into 1 book! I must say, this book is more thriller/horror, with romance being a side plot & emphasis on the DARK in dark romance. We do have romantic tropes of enemies to lovers & forced proximity, but more importantly we have found family 🫂

The concept of this book intrigued me SO much before reading, & I was so worried it would be too complicated to take in the paranormal aspect of it, but it was written so well. It was easy to digest, but also complex enough to keep you gripped. The characters were fantastic, & I am so excited to explore them again in the second book.

And always remember: “you are so much more than the worst thing that ever happened to you.”

⚠️ PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the trigger warnings before reading this, they are there for a reason! ⚠️

Read with me for 1 hour!! 📖 I’m a slow reader at the moment & constantly move around & get distracted, but this book is sooo interesting. Serial killer ghosts? HELLO! I was worried I’d struggle trying to imagine it, but the way it’s written is so easy to understand & it’s still the real world but with some ghosts, so I don’t have to suspend my disbelief TOO much 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’ll check back in with you again with more book updates soon! 🫶🏻

★★★★★ | THE LOVE TRIALS - Claire Fraise

I genuinely don’t know how to explain what this book did to me.

This is one of only two books I can call a true favorite of 2026 so far — and considering how much I read, that says a lot.

It’s completely outside my usual comfort zone. And it’s a slow burn... which I normally hate. 😂 But here? I wouldn’t change a thing.

The concept, the suspense, the twists, the characters, the tension between Eden and Nico... I was completely consumed. I lost sleep because I couldn’t put it down, and I wasn’t ready to leave this world when it ended.

Eden broke my heart. Nico completely wrecked me. And together? OBSESSED.

I didn’t just read this story. I lived it. ❤️‍🔥

Books you couldn’t pay me to… (positive only!!!)

Had to hop on the band wagon! I never want to post anything negative so here is my take on this fun trend. I love giving book recommendations and hearing other people love them as much as I do.

❔ What book was an unexpected 5 star read for you?

I always love to see what books got someone into reading and how that translates into what they love now 🥰

I tried to pace myself with this series because I truly didn’t want to see it end. I adore the little ragtag gang, their growth and struggles. A series I’m sure I’ll circle back to again and again.
