🚨 One of Houston’s most beloved chefs is back, and she’s taking over one of the city’s most iconic cultural spaces.

After helping define Houston dining with Canopy and Alice Blue, @clairesmith6596 has officially opened @chromahtx at the @menilcollection, bringing all-day dining, cocktails, weekend brunch, and globally inspired comfort food to the heart of Montrose. ✨

Expect everything from fresh pastries and Cruiser coffee to crispy polenta with ratatouille, shrimp and crab campechana, Thai curry red snapper, and house-made desserts. All served in a stunning space designed to feel like an extension of the Menil itself.

📍Whether you’re looking for a new breakfast spot, lunch destination, date night restaurant, or post-museum cocktail, chrôma deserves a spot on your Houston dining list.

Holiday traditions remind us of what matters – connection, gratitude, and joy. In this season of giving, we celebrate small rituals that bring us together.

One of our co-founder’s favorite holiday traditions are her mom’s peanut butter buckeyes. They are a seasonal staple she makes every year much to her family’s delight. After tasting them, we know why!

Yesterday, we gathered to make 250 as gifts for our generous donors who make our deliveries possible. A huge bonus of BloomAgainHouston are all the kind and thoughtful people we’ve encountered along the way! 🫶🙌🫶

THANK YOU donors and our friends who helped us bake! Having extra hands made this project quick work and fun - rather than one more thing on our to do list! ❤️❤️❤️

🌼🏡 Shello Gorgeous, Blossom Bungalows! Nearly two decades ago my dear friend and Houston culinary legend Claire Smith passed these two sweet bungalows on to me, and with my parents’ help this little patch of Houston is now transforming into a lush sanctuary.✨ Where there was once nothing but St. Augustine grass, now wildflowers sway for the bees, butterflies, and birds.🌿🦋🐝 Soon it’ll be overflowing with fruit trees, veggies, herbs—and next up, a pond for dragonflies and frogs!🐸🌱 Shell yeah! My advice: create your own sanctuary too. 🌎💚 #ShelloGorgeous #BlossomBungalows #HoustonGardens #UrbanSanctuary #WildflowersForWildlife #PollinatorParadise #GrowYourOwn #GardenMagic #BungalowLife #ShellYeah #GreenValentine

Shello to one of Houston’s most GORGEOUS chefs and restaurant icons, Claire Smith! 👩🏼‍🍳💖 THANK YOUUU for selling me your Blossom property almost two decades ago — what a journey! 🌿 I can’t wait to have you over soon to see the transformation and the transition away from Saint Augustine grass to wildflowers for bees 🐝, birds 🕊️, and butterflies 🦋 — a model yard for all Americans! 🇺🇸 Oh, and way back then I just adored your son and recognized such talent in him — I was instantly drawn to his spirit. ✨ Today, you and Russell have raised an extraordinary human being. Bravo and cheers to your beautiful family! 🥂💫

🌿✨ SHELLO, BEAUTIFUL SOULS 👋🏽 Do you really wanna be gorgeous? After decades in the fashion industry helping people get on magazine covers, I’m telling you — the new runway is Mother Earth. 👣🌎 It’s time to get your hands dirty, compost your yard waste, and stop sending precious leaves to the landfill 🍂💔. Turn that “trash” into new earth — for the bees 🐝, butterflies 🦋, dragonflies 🐉, and future generations 🌱. Wildflowers are the new fashion statement 🌼🌸. SHELLO to LIFE!!! Let’s grow beauty from the ground up 💚💪 🎥 @madiebrtn

👁️ 🐯 Shello gorgeous souls! 💚✨ If you’ve got a porch or a path, ditch the gas-guzzling leaf blower and grab a broom 🧹 — it’s meditative, fun, and doesn’t pollute the air we all breathe. Let’s clean up our act while we clean up our spaces. 🌍💨 Be the change, be the calm, be the love. Lots of love, THE GREEN VALENTINE! 💘🌿💫 #ShelloGorgeous #GreenValentine #SweepItUp #NoMoreLeafBlowers #EcoFriendlyLiving #LoveTheEarth #PorchLife #CleanAirCrew #ClimateActionStartsHere #GardenVibes #BroomSquad #GoodVibesOnly

🌎🌸 Shellooo, Gorgeous! 🌸🌎
Do you wanna bring out the gorgeous soul inside of you? 💫 If you’ve got land, plant wildflowers to attract bees, birds, and butterflies 🐝🦋🕊️. No land? Join a tree-planting crew 🌳 or support local gardens 🌼. You can also buy your fruits, veggies, herbs, and eggs 🥚🍅🥬 at your neighborhood farmers market to support the Earth and your local growers. The Earth needs us now — and I promise you, she’ll thank you. 🙏 Compost cardboard boxes 📦, leaves 🍂, coffee grounds ☕, eggshells, old fruits & veggies 🍌🥕— and make new earth! Get into composting, babes. Grow love. 🌱💚

Some of y’all will remember when I I loaded up my 1978 F100 and a U-haul and moved to Mississippi. That was 24 years ago. ⌛️Today in Houston, my friend Tim loaded up his ‘84 F150 with many of the furniture treasures I acquired while in Mississippi, mostly from the long-closed Mason Jar Antique Mall in New Albany, MS—the town where #WilliamFaulkner and my daughter were born. 📚This move is really feeling like the end of multiple eras, and it’s fitting that those eras are bookended by vintage trucks, schoolhouse furniture, and dear friends. 💫 Hoping all y’all stay with me for the ride. 💕
