I vividly remember never wanting to be in class in elementary school. Always calling home “sick" so that I wasn’t stuck there. I only wanted to be there for fiesta practice, time on the playground, and lunch; the social aspects. I thought it to be stupid that I was learning Spanish. Complaining that I couldn’t just be on normal school. School felt like it existed only for academics and good grades, but what I hadn’t realized is that my best friends were always with me, sharing this bond over culture and language. Without it, I wouldn’t have my second family. We wouldn’t have our coast trip, si se puede. I wouldn’t have the knowledge of a community…the feelings of loss. Now I want nothing more than to be in class. In class with all of you. It is a full circle moment and goes to show how important it is to live in the moment, not to allow fear and judgment to shape the future. I love all of you guys and I know we will all be ambitious and have many accomplishments! ¡Si se puede! And in true Dave fashion…byeeee @ollie_spinkss @qt.auds @tthelastunicorn
