Spoken Movement Family Honour is screening tonight at Kino London Short Film Festival 2026. The film is part of the Opening Night Gala of the festival at art’otel London Hoxton, kicking off four days of independent short film from filmmakers across the world. And a particularly exciting moment for us, Kwame Asafo-Adjei has been nominated for Best Performance in a Drama for his work in the film. His performance carries so much of the film through movement, physicality and emotion, so it’s fantastic to see it recognised in its own right. 📍 art’otel London, Hoxton 🗓 Friday 28 August 🎬 Opening Night Gala 🏆 Kino London Short Film Festival - BIFA Qualifying Very excited to see the film back on home ground and to open the festival alongside such a strong programme of work. Spoken Movement Family Honour arrives at the St. Moritz Art Film Festival this week. SMAFF brings together cinema, visual art and contemporary audiovisual work, with this year’s festival centred around “If Music”, exploring what happens when cinema is approached through rhythm, resonance, sound and movement rather than simply narrative. It feels like a particularly fitting place for Spoken Movement Family Honour, where choreography, sound and physicality carry so much of the story. We’re excited to see the film in this context and introduce it to a new audience alongside such an interesting programme of artists and filmmakers. Our screening is part of “Music as Space”, alongside a selection of films exploring the relationship between sound, movement, memory and place. 📍 St. Moritz, Switzerland 🗓 Friday 21 August 🕛 12:15 🇨🇭 Swiss Premiere A beautiful setting, a great festival, and a new space for the film to live in. Thank you to @stefano_rabolli_pansera and the SMAFF team for having us. @st.moritz.art.film.festival Dancer: Kwame Asafo-Adjei - @spoken_movement Dancer: Catrina Nisbett - @cat.catnis Director: Daniel Gurton - @danielgurton Producer: Harriet Thomas - @harrietsthomas Executive Producer: Daniel Gurton - @danielgurton Executive Producer: Jana Suhani Soin - @janasuhani Production Company: Clara Productions Ltd - @claraproductionsltd Cinematographer: Henry Gill - @thehenrygill Composer: Ben Nobuto - _nobuto_ Editor: Sakky Barnor - @sakky_cuts Editor: Emilie Orsini Sound Designer: Rob Taliesin Owen - @potionsoundworks Choreographer: Kwame Asafo-Adjei - @spoken_movement Gaffer: Mary Kalecinska - mary__kale Steadicam Operator: Alex Kryszkiewicz @steadi.k Focus Puller: Gordon Wong - @gordon.wsh_ Rigger: Dylan Schultz-Soo - @dylansschultz Spark: Breandan McBennett Sound Mixer: Guldem Masa @gldemm Colourist: Dan Levy - @danmaxlevy Senior Colour Producer: Jai Mhach Durban - @jaimhachdurban Post House: RASCAL - @rascalstudio_ Titles Design: Studio Matthew Roland Bannister - @matthewrolandbannister Location: The Tanks, Tate Modern

Spoken Movement Family Honour has arrived at Accra Indie Filmfest 2026 this week. After an incredible festival journey across the UK, Europe, Asia and the US, we’re honoured to bring the film to Ghana, the place where its story first began. The roots of Family Honour begin here. The idea for the film grew from a moment between choreographer Kwame Asafo-Adjei’s father and sister in Ghana. For Kwame, the film came from trying to turn a difficult family experience into something that could open conversation. The goal was to make audiences feel close to it, almost like being in the room, witnessing a family trying to hold itself together while difficult things remain unspoken. Every society begins with families. If we want to understand the issues that shape our communities, we have to start at home. Sharing it with audiences in Accra feels like a particularly special moment. To celebrate, we’re releasing the official trailer today. Public screenings will also be announced soon, and we can’t wait to share more. @accraindiefilmfest Dancer: Kwame Asafo-Adjei - @spoken_movement Dancer: Catrina Nisbett - @cat.catnis Director: Daniel Gurton - @danielgurton Producer: Harriet Thomas - @harrietsthomas Executive Producer: Daniel Gurton - @danielgurton Executive Producer: Jana Suhani Soin - @janasuhani Production Company: Clara Productions Ltd - @claraproductionsltd Cinematographer: Henry Gill - @thehenrygill Composer: Ben Nobuto - _nobuto_ Editor: Sakky Barnor - @sakky_cuts Editor: Emilie Orsini Sound Designer: Rob Taliesin Owen - @potionsoundworks Choreographer: Kwame Asafo-Adjei - @spoken_movement Gaffer: Mary Kalecinska - mary__kale Steadicam Operator: Alex Kryszkiewicz @steadi.k Focus Puller: Gordon Wong - @gordon.wsh_ Rigger: Dylan Schultz-Soo - @dylansschultz Spark: Breandan McBennett Sound Mixer: Guldem Masa @gldemm Colourist: Dan Levy - @danmaxlevy Senior Colour Producer: Jai Mhach Durban - @jaimhachdurban Post House: RASCAL - @rascalstudio_ Titles Design: Studio Matthew Roland Bannister - @matthewrolandbannister Location: The Tanks, Tate Modern
