It’s hard to put into words what our partnership with the Nashville Symphony and the @nsomusicians has meant to us over the years. But we’re going to try.

We are thrilled to welcome acclaimed Nashville-based pianist Alessandra Volpi as a featured soloist for our upcoming concerts for the lyrical second movement of Samuel Barber’s Piano Concerto.

Ms. Volpi enjoys a versatile career as a collaborative pianist, chamber musician, vocal coach, and orchestral keyboardist. Born in Viareggio, Italy, she completed her undergraduate and graduate studies across conservatories and universities in Italy and the United States, and has performed on major stages including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and Pritzker Pavilion. A passionate chamber musician, her work spans Classical and Romantic masterworks, contemporary premieres, recordings and broadcasts.

She serves as Pianist and Coach at Belmont University, faculty for the Nashville Bel Canto Foundation and Opera Lucca Festival, and Rehearsal Pianist for Nashville Ballet. She performs regularly as an orchestral keyboardist with the Nashville Symphony bringing her rich European heritage and dynamic collaborative spirit to Middle Tennessee.

We are so excited to play Jessie Montgomery’s incredible piece “Strum” at our upcoming concerts. Jessie is a GRAMMY® Award-winning composer, violinist, and educator. The strings are excited to shine and show off the depth and breadth of what our instruments can do!

Take a moment to listen to how Jessie explains what “Strum” is all about and what to listen for.

The inaugural @classical.615 jam was a blast. I was incredibly honored (and slightly emotional) to have these players sight read my old String Quartet No. 1 and bring it to life for the first time! Many thanks to @kraitz and @benplotnickfiddle for organizing this and the @urbancowboyparlorbar for providing a wonderful space. Looking forward to the next one!
