Scenes from a day so perfect, the photos just don’t do it justice. I started the afternoon with my second annual fall foliage cruise up the Hudson. Look at that sky! And, I spotted my new home from the boat today.

Then I went for a walk around Hudson River Park, had an early dinner and finished with a cocktail. You know how sometimes in fall it feels like midnight but it’s not even 7 yet? That happened to me today when I sat at this sexy little bar in Chelsea before heading home.

Create a life you don’t need a vacation from.

Ya girl loves to plan a quick getaway, and one of my all-time favorites is a trip to New York City. 🥰 I was so excited to show my husband around some of my favorite spots and neighborhoods for his first time in the city!

A few things we loved about this trip:

✈️ Getting there: There are flight options from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to the NYC area, including LaGuardia (LGA), JFK, and Newark (EWR), depending on the airline and schedule. We flew into Newark because we’re staying near the West Village, Nolita, and SoHo, and the Uber ride from the airport was super easy!

🚶‍♀️ Our kind of itinerary: We built our trip around amazing views, lots of walking, wandering through beautiful neighborhoods, shopping, and stopping for every incredible meal and coffee we could get our paws on.

☕️ Follow the vibe: Every neighborhood has its own personality. You can spend an entire day exploring one area, finding little shops, grabbing a coffee, and stumbling upon places you never would have planned.

🗽 Don’t try to do it all: There’s no way to experience the entire city in one weekend, and honestly, that’s part of the fun! Pick the neighborhood that fits your vibe and make the most of it instead of spending your whole trip rushing from one attraction to the next.

New York has such a special energy, and it’s one of my absolute favorite quick getaways from Cincinnati. ❤️
