DID YOU KNOW?? 👀👀🧐

The 1989 Boschert B300 Gullwing is one of the rarest and most fascinating Mercedes-based creations of the 1980s. Designed by German industrial designer Hartmut Boschert, this extraordinary machine was created with one ambitious goal: to combine the elegance of a four-seat coupé with the legendary gullwing concept of the iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL.

ENGINE & PERFORMANCE 🔧

* Engine: 3.0-litre Mercedes-Benz M103 inline-six
* Forced induction: Twin-turbocharging
* Power output: 283 hp (208 kW)
* Top speed: Approximately 258 km/h (160 mph)
* Transmission: Specially adapted manual gearbox
* Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive

The original naturally aspirated 300 CE produced around 180 hp. With two turbochargers, the Boschert gained more than 100 additional horsepower, transforming the elegant coupé into a serious performance machine.

DESIGN & ENGINEERING 🪽

The B300 was based on the Mercedes-Benz 300 CE (C124), but its appearance was dramatically transformed. The front end was inspired by the contemporary R129 SL, giving the car a more modern and aggressive face.
Its most spectacular feature is the pair of gullwing doors, measuring approximately 1.66 metres wide. Opening them required substantial structural modifications, including reinforced side sills and changes to the body structure. The doors were electrohydraulically operated and provided access to both rows of seats.
Inside, the car featured seats borrowed from the R129 SL. Its distinctive two-tone leather upholstery and luxurious detailing reflected the extravagant custom-car culture of the late 1980s.

My Name is Palido. Verde Palido - One of my personal favorites to ever emerge from the legendary factory with the prancing horse emblem is not an actual car, but a color which enhanced a lot of models over the years. The most famous one is probably the @ferrari 250 GTO which should have been driven by the late Sir Stirling Moss back in the day. A key feature of this car was this striking livery. Decades later a few brave and creative souls chose this exact color for their Ferraris, one of the latest being this example of the 296 Speciale. An Atelier car with all the good stuff on it - white painted wheels, black stripes with white pinstripes, blue seats and a lot of carbon fiber. What a car and what a spec!

Classic Remise Düsseldorf
3 years ago, I got a chance to check out Classic Remise up in Berlin, and I was blown away by it. With Düsseldorf only being an hour and a bit drive from where we were staying, I had to go check out the sister branch.

It's a centre for vintage and enthusiast cars located in a historic roundhouse for trains. Inside, you'll find services, spare parts shops, dealers, and even a restaurant.

It truly is a dream to walk around these historic cars with the industrial backdrop. Best of all, it's free 😄. I'd say there were no more than 8 people walking around. The silence, broken briefly by an Aston Martin starting up, really let you appreciate these cars without distraction.

If you're close to this site or Berlin's, I'd highly recommend calling in. The car lineups are constantly changing, so you never know what will meet you there.

Welcome to Berlin’s car palace.

Picking up right where we left off yesterday at the Trabi Museum and the VW DRIVE. Forum, we move straight on to the next absolute hotspot: the Classic Remise Berlin.
Standing right in front of this entrance, I completely underestimated what was waiting for me inside. Honestly, I’m kind of mad at myself for not coming here much earlier. I vaguely remember visiting once as a kid with my grandfather, but the details are long gone. Walking through these doors opens up a whole different world.

If you are into top-tier, pristine classic Mercedes-Benz models of past decades, you will definitely find what you’re looking for here. But that’s only a small piece of the puzzle. Hidden among all the high-end classics are absolute rarities that even seasoned car spotters rarely get to see in person - ranging from a multi-million-dollar Ferrari 275 and a Lancia Stratos to rare beasts like a Callaway Corvette LM.

An absolute must-visit location for every car enthusiast, and easily setting the bar sky-high for everything else out there.
