Mi Gente: stories of Latinas in wellness, starting with Claudia Davila.

Claudia is a model, stylist, and the founder of Salvaged Sauvage. She’s Peruvian, Brazilian, and Chilean. Her period education came from her mom, aunt, and grandma, and her first tampon lesson came from two teammates in a bathroom right before a championship soccer game. It was chaotic, and it was pure girlhood.

The advice she grew up with was simple and generational: stay clean, push through the pain, and always carry an extra pad, because you never know who else might need one. It wasn’t everything, but it was honest.

Now she wants younger Latinas to hear what she wishes she’d been told sooner: your body isn’t a burden, and your period isn’t something to be ashamed of.
