🚨SECRET TO SWINGING A STIFF CLAW🚨

A lot of Clawmachines nowadays don’t swing at all, especially if they have high value prizes. Clawmachine operators can set the claw to be rigid so you cannot use the swing trick to win. Having it tight like that, allows them to make sure you can only win based on a certain payout; which is how they rig their machines.

What they will NEVER count on you doing is using a round to drop the Claw to extend the string as low as possible.

When the Claw comes back, it usually hits the coil wire, and that allows enough of a tiny adjustment to give you some string. This extra string now will allow you to use the swing trick.
This works by affecting the actuator that pulls the claw back. Allowing the coil wire to get hit will prevents a full recoil of the claw string and give you extra string. Now the machine can swing and the swing trick will work.
A lot of machines that have electronics or other high value items can be beat this way!

Apparently I missed my calling as a travel planner. 😂

His wishes? Climb Mount Fuji and visit the big three: Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto.

My veto? Koyasan was going in. No discussion. 😂 I really wanted us to experience an overnight stay there together.

So this was our slightly insane 9-day itinerary:

🇯🇵 Day 1&2 — Tokyo
🚗 Day 3 — Pick up our rental car & explore Hakone
🗻 Day 4 — Head to the Fuji area & climb Mount Fuji all the way to the top
🥾 Day 5 — Descend Fuji, drive back to Tokyo, return the car & take the Shinkansen to Osaka
🚆 Day 6 — Early train to Koyasan & spend the night there
⛩️ Day 7 — Koyasan & travel back to Osaka
🏙️ Day 8 — Full day in Osaka
⛩️ Day 9 — Full day in Kyoto & back to Tokyo at night

A ridiculous amount of kilometres. One Mount Fuji summit. And a travel planner who clearly doesn’t believe in rest days. 😂🇯🇵

The Swing Trick: The Forbidden Claw
Machine Technique 🕹️

The Swing Trick is one of the hardest-but most rewarding-claw machine techniques you can learn. It’s highly technical and takes practice, but once you master it, you’ll be pulling off wins that most players never will.
Follow these steps and you might just become the next ClawMaster.

1️⃣Step 1:
Position the claw over the prize hole, NOT over the prize you want to win.

✌️Step 2:
Move the claw back and forth between the prize hole and the toy to build a controlled swing.
The key is to keep the swing moving in a straight line. Don’t let the claw start swirling or spinning. This is the hardest part of the technique and takes the most practice. If the claw swirls, it won’t throw the prize accurately back toward the hole.

🔥Step 3:
Once the claw is swinging, press the drop button when the claw is FACING the toy. On most standard claw machines, this timing lines. up with the claw reaching the toy
! If the claw ends up dropping directly into the prize hole instead, try again and release it when it’s facing the hole instead. Small timing adjustments make all the difference.

🧊Step 4:
As the claw reaches the toy, double tap the button (if the machine has that feature enabled) to grab it.

The swinging angle you’ve created should pull the prize back toward the hole, giving you a much better chance of winning.
Every claw machine is different, so expect to make small adjustments to your timing and swing. Don’t get discouraged-this technique takes practice, but once it clicks, it’s incredibly satisfying.

Happy Clawing 🕹️

Having the @wsj reach out to me for an interview was not in my 2026 bingo card!

They were curious about the explosion in the popularity of Claw machine specific arcades across North America and apparently my content was all over their radar 👀. They had a phone interview with me and wanted to see me in action IRL.

All the cards came together and we were able to make it happen by meeting up at @gatchany in Ktown, NY.

The article is behind a paywall but I did my best to screen shot it and you can swipe to view the entire article. The official print version is at the end too!

I’m truly grateful to every single one of you for getting me to this point of recognition and supporting me over the past few years!

As always….
The. Best. Is. Yet. To. Come!

Most people would have just gone for the bear on the edge and called it a day. Looking deep into the machine we are able to see that there are multiple toys that can be flipped over if we get a toy that’s buried deep. It’s vital to always look at everything before playing to help win multiple at once.
