All set at Directors Park. I’m surrounded by many talented artists and the activity of downtown Portland. It’s a great day to sit outside and observe.

It may feel like Summer is winding down, but Portland keeps bringing the heat.

Labor Day art in the Pearl, a tipsy spelling bee, a downtown ceramics market, a collective scream on the Esplanade, Oktoberfest at the German Haus, the last Sunday Parkways of the year, and a Drink & Draw at Coffin Club to close it out.

Come check out my fall collection at one of my many events! This month you can find me at The Clay Commons in downtown for the first two Wednesdays of the month. Then I am returning to Symbiop Garden Shop for another weekend of Radical Harvest! I will also be at the Clinton and Belmont Street Fairs. And for the last weekend of the month, come by Cornell Farms for the annual OPA Fall Fair.

My new fall collection will be available at markets starting mid September, but you can get them earlier by going to my online shop on September 10th. Members of my email list get access to a spooky discount code, so make sure to check your email! Join the email list this month and get entered to win a ceramic mini mushroom sculpture.

I’ve really fallen in love with vending again. While I’m on hiatus from leading classes and workshops, I’ve found such a sweet way to incorporate art as a liberatory practice into my pop-ups and it feels so good to not have these two parts of my business feel separate like they did before. I often have people cry or tear up at my booth, or share some vulnerability. I have so many opportunities for sharing, teaching, and just connecting with the hearts of people, and offering some of the wisdom, insights and care I’ve found along my own journey. I often joke with people that my booth is (not so secretly) the art therapy booth. I love it! I’ll be popping up at a bunch more events through the end of the year. Come say hi!

I finally did a market with all of my very own furniture and I’m feeling a little like an adult potter/small business owner right now!

I really dipped one toe in at a time when starting markets and I am so grateful for the community of support that got me to this milestone. From amazing friends @crystalcreatesmagicpdx, @hazelpdx and @pigwingspottery lending me tables and spending COUNTLESS hours discussing design and pricing, to organizations like @oregonpotters, @smallbatchmarketpnw, @builtoregon and @claycommonsnet who take the time to support newbies through all our fretting and questions, plus fantastic neighborhood spots like @portlandnursery, @symbiopgardenshop, @rockybuttefarmersmarket and @woodlawnfarmersmarket who take chances on new small business owners, folks like me are lucky to have you around. And of course, everyone who has made a purchase along the way has also fueled my confidence that this dream can become a reality.

I still have quite a ways to go in my ceramic and small business journey. And I suspect l’ll continue needing help. 😉 Just taking a moment to appreciate where I’m at today and many of the folks who helped get me here. 💕
