My 3 ceramic bells “Ukrainian Spirit” got installed yesterday at the Clay Hand Gallery @clayhandstudios for the “Standing on Their Shoulders. Stories of How We Got Here” show.

The opening reception Oct 1, 2026, 5 - 8 pm
On view Oct 1 - 31, 2026

For over four years, the world has witnessed the horrific atrocities of the russian invasion of Ukraine. Through all the coverage of loss and destruction, one image has remained powerful in my mind. It is the image of bullet holes turned into flowers by Ukrainian artist, showing the resilience of their spirit. These flowers are reminders that Art is a powerful tool in the fight for freedom and sovereignty. A good reminder for us all.

ArtHop part 2: Clay hand studios!

So sad to see that three of the galleries were closed but Clay Hand Studios was open and showing some of the coolest pieces I’ve seen! So many artists creating different forms it’s amazing. Join in on their classes to learn about this art form and maybe have your art displayed in arthop.

Last pieces from M street studios: one by scraps college and second by Gema Lopez, whose painting look incredibly smooth it’s unbelievable. You have to visit to see them.

“A dance for life” (one of my First ever) Raku -angels is what launched me into clay almost 30 years ago!

An amazing one-on-one, 2 weeks in Bend Oregon with lifelong friend and muse
Mo Quinn ignited my passion for the possibilities with clay.

After completing this body of work, it wouldn’t be until almost 22 years later that I would put my hands back in clay….

Unfortunately/fortunately while I was working in the medium that would forever unlock my future joy, infidelity was at play back home…and long story short… while I found my freedom (in more ways than one) clay would not resurface again until 5 years ago!

“A dance for life” @clayhandstudios for the month of July in Fresno CA.
