It may be fall here in New York, but a lot of you are in New Zealand and Australia where summer is just around the corner, so this one’s for you!

Shock, horror the hexagon house doesn’t have a hexagon pool 😱 but it sure packs a punch! When we arrived, a family of frogs had thrown a pool party and invited the whole neighbourhood. No one was leaving, eviction notices were served, the pool got a full refurb, and now it’s back to its 1960s glory.

~ When clay meets glass ~
I had this idea to combine the brightness and texture of colored glass with the earthy warmth of clay for a sculpture base using these beautiful breeze blocks from Clay Imports.

Site inspired color palette reflecting the hues of the Frio River and the butterflies in the nearby pollinator garden.

We overnighted @samplize sheets to test our favorite neutrals against our tile and stone. ZERO mess and the ability to move them with the natural light to find the perfect undertone 🙌🏼

When we moved from Texas to Hyattsville this summer, we knew we’d be taking on a few home projects in our new home, which was previously owned/lived in by a group of nuns!
The house was incredibly well maintained, but much of it was original, and we’ve spent the last few months updating the kitchen and bathrooms, uncovering some interesting quirks along the way, and slowly filling the rooms with vintage furniture we’ve collected over the years.
One of my favorite parts of the process has been discovering all the incredible vintage shops, architectural salvage stores, and secondhand treasures around the DMV (please tag your favorites, I want to visit them all!) After years of sourcing and selling vintage furniture in Texas through @stampworthygoods, it’s been so fun getting to explore a whole new area!
We still have plenty of projects ahead of us (and a few rooms that are very much works in progress), but we’re loving making this house our own and getting to know the Hyattsville community along the way! Huge shout out to our realtors at @kartaproperties for finding this gem of a home for us

Just a cool shot, I love a unique perspective… not the average view of a typical kitchen. Thank you to @sabrinacolequinn for her creativity. I used two sconces in the alcove at the range and repeated them around the two windows above the sinks. These bronze fixtures add just the right amount of contrast to the otherwise neutral kitchen. Light grey cabinets and ‘fog’ wall tiles.

Woodruff Homes was happy to have the CEO of @clayimports Tile out this morning to see our new office floors, and discuss the process of laying their Baked Pavers from start to finish. With this being one of their newer products, we were excited to be apart of an interview where we talked about our experience using their tile in this build, as well as past projects. We’re excited for this partnership and the future projects where we get to use such a unique material and work with people who truly care about what they produce. Woodruff Homes is known for Building to a Higher Standard and that goes hand-in-hand with the products we choose to bring into our homes. Clay Imports tile is made to last!
