🖤 BLACK BATS ARE WHERE IT’S AT!!! 🖤🎉🙌🤸

During our recent visit to @claykingceramics, we spotted ALL the colorful @speedball_ceramics pottery bats on display!!! 🌈 And of course, we had to zoom in on our FAVORITES… the BLACK Molly Sanyour Signature Speedball Bats!!! 🖤🖤🖤

Years ago, when Speedball reached out about collaborating on a signature bat, I was THRILLED!!! I’ve been a longtime fan of their classic plastic bats, so getting to create my very own BLACK version with my name on it was a dream come true!!!

Here’s why I LOVE them so much:

🖤 VERSATILE! They fit a variety of pottery wheelheads!

🖤 EASY TO REMOVE! That little raised ledge around the edge is a GAME CHANGER! You can actually get your fingers underneath to lift the bat right off without fighting that annoying suction that happens with other bats!

🖤 EASY TO ALIGN! Those little dots around the perimeter help you locate the bat pin holes so you’re not endlessly spinning the bat around trying to line everything up!!! 🙌

🖤 DURABLE! Made from sturdy plastic that lasts for YEARS and YEARS!

🖤 PRACTICAL! Perfect for wheel throwing AND handbuilding!

🖤 BEAUTIFUL! Because let’s be real… the BLACK just looks SO GOOD!!! 😍

Whether you’re a beginner learning to throw pottery or an experienced ceramic artist, having a good bat makes ALL the difference!

🖤 WHERE TO FIND THEM! Our black Molly Sanyour Signature Speedball Bats are available through pottery suppliers that carry Speedball products! And if your favorite local pottery supplier doesn’t have them in stock, just ASK them to order some!!! 🙌

Of course, you can also grab yours from @claykingceramics and use code SANYOUR10 to save on your order!

A HUGE thank you to Speedball for this incredible collaboration and to Clay-King for carrying my signature bats alongside so many amazing pottery supplies!!! 🥰

Let’s get these BLACK BATS into pottery studios everywhere!!! 🖤🎉🤸

Who’s already throwing on BLACK bats with me?! 🙋‍♀️🖤

One person said they wanted to see what I’ve been up to (ceramically speaking) and so that was enough for me to make this post 😁😁😁

I haven’t been making very much lately which makes it all the more difficult when studio time and projects don’t go as planned. Underneath any emotion there’s often something more broadly revealing about where we are located in our own growth journey. But that’s life, right? That’s why we practice. To microdose whatever occurs “outside” of the practice. So we can allow these different habits to help us become better integrated human beings.

That’s what I’ve been telling myself anyway 😘

A little glaze experiment that completely stole the show ✨💚

I picked up this glaze from @claykingceramics while visiting family in the US and decided to test it on a small piece to see how it would react… and wow, I wasn’t expecting this! A creamy, buttery ivory base, washed with soft sea foam, glossy, organic, and full of little surprises — almost like tiny galaxies suspended in stone. Every patch catches the light differently, making the whole piece feel alive.

Sometimes the test piece ends up being the star of the show. 🫶🏼

spooky season is here & this cutie is coming back this year in my halloween shop! i typically like to have a halloween release early October but the kiln gods had other plans.

i keep getting tons of messages about my regular halloween release so i wanted to give yall an update - while i don’t have a date yet, it’s definitely coming before the end of the month.

the good news is that the new parts for my kiln were delivered 20 minutes ago. so hopefully that means my kiln will be fixed by this evening, i can run a test fire tomorrow & get these hundreds of cups fired and moving. pleaseeee send out some good vibes that this thing is fixed because i miss making ceramics so freaking much. 😩😵‍💫

WHAT A FUN VISIT TO CLAY KING!!!!! 👏🙌🎉🫶🥰🥳🤸🤩

On our way from Richmond, VA, back home to Atlanta and Molly Sanyour Ceramics Studio, we made a VERY important pit stop at @claykingceramics in Spartanburg, SC!

We usually shop Clay King ONLINE, so when we realized it was right off I-85 South, we HAD to stop and see the magic IRL!!! 🤩

If you haven’t discovered Clay King yet, imagine AMAZON FOR POTTERS, except it’s a locally owned pottery supply shop with lightning-fast shipping and EVERYTHING your clay-loving heart could want! 📦❤️

Here’s what makes this visit EXTRA special! When I was opening Molly Sanyour Ceramics Studio, Clay King was my LIFELINE!!! From figuring out which pottery wheels, pugmill, slab roller, and extruder to purchase, to coordinating orders and delivery timelines, they answered ALL my questions and helped me every step of the way! 🥹❤️

So getting to finally meet the wonderful people I’d only known through emails and phone calls was SUCH A TREAT!!!

They welcomed us with open arms and gave us a tour of their retail shop! Glazes, tools, equipment, and of course, our BLACK Molly Sanyour Ceramics Speedball bats! 🖤🤍

And the crazy part? Most of the magic happens in their warehouses across the road, which we didn’t go see! 🤯

🎉 AND WE HAVE A DISCOUNT FOR YOU!

Use code SANYOUR10 for 10% OFF your orders!

Can’t visit in person? No worries! They ship ALL OVER and FAST! Shop Clay-King.com or through our link in bio!

HUGE THANK YOU to the Clay King crew for helping bring my studio dreams to life and for making us feel so welcome! We LOVE supporting locally owned businesses that truly support the pottery community! 🫶
