I guess, what is a good Sunday morning without an emotion post to start the day? After 16 amazing years together (some tough and some like a breeze) Sage decided to to ask me THE QUESTION. To say he pulled off a surprise that I didn’t see coming is the understatement of the year.

It was hot, I was sweaty, I ugly cried - and yet it was perfect and I would not have changed one detail.

After a fun day on the lake, I was told our dear friend wanted to go to Garvin Gardens to take some photos for his photography portfolio. So we took the boat to GG and hiked up a trail, when we came across their amphitheater by accident.
It was beautiful.
I said, this looks like a perfect place for photos. (It’s not the place Sage had originally had in his head.).
After taking some photos for ten minutes or so (and we were all soaked and hot), Sage took my hand and teared up, and what happened next shocked me.
1. Because Sage isn’t good at planning major surprises without me.
2. That I had no idea what was happening.
3. Marriage was not an option for us for so long, and once it was, we were afraid it would be taken right back away. We never let that be an indicator of how strong our relationship was.

Even though we don’t need that label to define our love, we deserve it.

I’m so thankful we found each other almost 17 years ago. I’m thankful for his love and support. I’m thankful that he loves me even with all my flaws. I’m thankful we have so many friends and family who love us.

I’m thankful for this moment.

Thank you @claysuttonphoto for capturing this unforgettable moment. Thanks also to @finance_goddess and @grantlaisure for helping Sage and for being there at one of our biggest milestones.
