Fear is the mind killer

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After a week of diving into the wild fringe theory that Garth Brooks might secretly be a serial killer (yep, that happened), recently finishing Philip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”, AND our longtime pal of the show Clay dropping a Nexus 6 reference in the comments…
I figured there’s no better way to cap off midweek than with a VHS viewing of this absolute classic: Blade Runner — 10th Anniversary Edition.

Sometimes the only answer is Harrison Ford, neon rain, and replicants. 🌌📼✨

Happy Hump Day, BE RAD!

Just finished this absolute classic!

Shoutout to our long-time listener & friend of the show, Clay, for gifting me this gem 🙌 (you officially kicked off my first-ever Philip K. Dick read…wild, I know).

I couldn’t put it down. The differences between the book and Blade Runner blew my mind, and honestly… I kinda loved them both for totally different reasons.

If you’re into sci-fi, questions about humanity, or just want to see where Blade Runner got its DNA - you gotta read this one. Highly recommend.

What’s your favorite PKD book? Or maybe the first one that got you hooked? Drop it in the comments so I can read it next!!
I think I just found a “rabbit trail” I won’t be climbing out of anytime soon. 🐑⚡🤖

I expected the goodbye to be hard, but wow! When I met her she was like the other mother I never knew I needed. So strong, so smart, so generous. She came from such a humble beginning and created so much love around her. She taught me so much about how to live and how to love. She used to say ‘take care of each other’ when Clay and I would go home after her chicken and fry bread dinner. If you complimented her shirt, she’d give it to you. I’m so grateful I got to be a part of her sphere and got to be a part of her family. Tomorrow we bury her, but what a big place she will leave in our hearts. RIP Sandra Stroff!

It’s a rare and special thing when we get to meet one of our listeners in real life, and even rarer when that listener feels more like an old friend.

Passing through St. Louis without finally meeting @clayto24 would’ve been a total tragedy. He’s been rocking with That Would Be Rad since the early days: an OG best friend, episode curator, and all-around brilliant dude.

Getting to hang, talk shop, and laugh face-to-face just made what we do feel that much more meaningful. It’s moments like this that remind us why we started the show in the first place.

Here’s to strange stories, rad people, and the ever-growing community of curious minds we’re lucky enough to call best friends.

Sometimes when mothering, you get to go pick up your (goofy) daughter from cool places❤️. It sure makes up for all those sleepless nights and diaper changes. Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who care for me and the world!!

Bent and shaped in ways that are real and enduring, missing just enough diamonds to make it strong not delicate, tumbled and polished to shine. Thats what 22 years of marriage to @clayto24 What a prize! Happy Anniversary Baby!
