Wow! 🎬🌱🌎 check out @richmondtrees co-founder @leemicheaux talk about how they will use their @bayareaairdistrict $399,000 grant to increase urban greening and plant trees in neighborhoods that are impacted by pollution from the Chevron, refinery, including Point Richmond, Iron triangle, Santa Fe, North, Richmond, and Coronado.

Richmond trees was part of the @cityofrichmondca $10.7 million grant under the Air District’s new policy where penalties paid by industrial violators is reinvested back into the community where the pollution violation occurred. I strongly advocated for this new policy.

Cleaner air starts with small choices and grows into something powerful when we act together. 🌎💙

For California Clean Air Day, thousands of us walked and biked a short trip, took public transit, shared a ride, and turned off an idling engine. We are only fresh fruits and vegetables for a day rather than thirsty animal proteins.

One action may feel small, but multiplied across our communities, it can make a huge difference.

Here in Contra Costa County, every child deserves to breathe easier. Let’s make clean air a daily commitment, one choice, one neighbor, one moment at a time.

We got to celebrate @cleanairday a few days late but just in time for some actual refreshing clean air post rain 🌧️ ⛅️☀️

Together, we had a slow morning of chatting and settling our babies in. Then we got to moving and completed a successful micro clean up of the entire park! Volunteers received custom @keepnaturewild gloves, bags & sticker packs to remind us all@of the importance and difference we make with this simple act! Thank you to our sponsor, @endless_wonder_inc_ for gifting (2) free play passes to Play Street Museum Ontario ✨✨ we hope to have a play date soon!

Stay tuned and join us for the next clean up! Until then, we hope everyone is staying cozy when they can and are enjoying time with your babies and family this season 🤍 #letsgrowtogether #stewardship #wordofmoms

Today was historic! 🎬🌎

It’s the first time that the Bay Area Air District fines collected from the Chevron refinery have been reinvested in our local communities that experience the impacts of air pollution.

I helped advocate for this policy change so that communities (like ours) that are disproportionately impacted by air pollution benefit from projects funded with these air quality violation fines.

We announced the Air District’s $38.7 million investment of Chevron fines to improve the health and economic strength of the greater Richmond-San Pablo-North Richmond area, including:

• Supporting healthier and more resilient homes
• building a North Richmond community resilience center
• expanding access to clean energy
• improving community health
• expanding tree planting
• creating youth leadership opportunities
• improving affordable transportation options, and more!

What a successful Clean Air Day!

We had a great afternoon at Rancho Guadalupe Beach celebrating clean air! We teamed up with the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center and Hike Club Kids to clean up litter, connect with our community, and help protect our coastal environment.

Thank you to everyone who came together to make a difference! Together, we celebrated the importance of clean air and healthy communities.

Great getting to know more of the Iwatani team at the San Ramon Iwatani station!
.
Iwatani was passing out swag and connecting with FCEV owners today in celebration of National Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Day. A big thank you to Iwatani. Great chatting with the team on several topics -- most interestingly they confirmed that Iwatani is working on increasing capacity at existing stations, ie West Sacramento and San Ramon are going to get more than one pump which will obviously increase throughput
.
A couple other tidbits I learned today --
.
the lower payment screen on the new Tokico dispenser is a separate computer from the top screen that shows the price and the kg dispensed. This is why the top screen will show 'END' after fueling but the lower screen may not say anything or say that the fueling session is still active. It is something Iwatani is working on. The lower screen relys on multiple service providers. Payment systems are still quite complex apparently 🤷
.
if you need to end the session early, or if ur not sure if the session is over, before disconnecting, you can press the lever inside the nossle storage area to release the pressure in the dispenser. On this unit, it's labeled "Hook Switch Button"
.
(Iwatani San Ramon is located on Toyota property next to Toyota's main Bay Area distribution center and near the Bishop Ranch development that houses Chevron's California HQ [not correlated just pointing out that there is at least more than one energy-related company in the area]).
