In our third issue of our magazine, Fields, we talked to Renata Lučić (@clem.kru ), whose beautiful film Year of Endless Days (Godina prođe, dan nikako) made multiple members of ISKRA cry when they attended its premiere in Zagreb. Through mutual friendships, we were happy to get to know Renata through a conversation, which we bring snippets of to you today! We talked about rural life, disappearing places, the intimacy of filming family, the camera as a bridge to conversations that might otherwise remain unspoken, and what it means to preserve culture through the small details of everyday life. 🌟🌟🌟 A graduate of the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, Renata’s body of work spans both fiction and documentary, often blending the two in subtle and lyrical ways. Her earlier short films, including Silvija and The Real Truth about the Fight, also received festival acclaim, showcasing her continued interest in the inner worlds of ordinary people. With a growing list of awards and screenings at festivals such as Sarajevo Film Festival, ZagrebDox, and Dok Leipzig, she is steadily building a career rooted in empathy, minimalism, and emotional precision.
