Happy birthday to the man God handcrafted just for me.

Watching you walk in your purpose this year has been one of my greatest blessings. Your strength, your heart, and your faith inspire me every single day. I don’t take for granted that God chose me to do life with you.

My prayer for you today:

Father God, thank You for the gift of his life. I ask that You bless the year ahead of him with favor, wisdom, and peace that passes understanding. Guard his mind, his health, and his steps. Open doors no man can shut and close the ones not meant for him. Let him feel Your presence in every room he walks into. Strengthen his hands for the work You’ve called him to do and fill his heart with joy that overflows. Cover him, keep him, and remind him daily that he is chosen, anointed, and deeply loved. This Jazz Fest season, I had the honor of singing behind THEE Jon Batiste!! I’m incredibly grateful for the call to sing in the choir and to bring some heavy hitters with me, @jdubmusic504 ! We were locked into an intense week of recording and rehearsals. Huge thanks to @deszmusicofficial for teaching, encouraging, and pushing us to our full potential!

The level of pure, genuine Black talent in every room was so rich. The gems that were shared are truly priceless, and this was an experience I’ll never forget. Most of us were hoarse and sleep-deprived, but you couldn’t wipe those smiles off our proud faces! @jonbatiste , thank you for everything! God, thank You. This was the perfect way to kick off my Jazz Fest season.

With my mentor retiring and us preparing to celebrate him soon, it meant so much to sing with my alma mater. It’s always a pleasure to give back even a piece of what he’s poured into me. This was definitely a day to remember! 🥹🫶🏽🎺💕🌻 ✨✨
