It’s National Theater Day and I can’t help but think back to one of the most unforgettable stages I’ve ever stepped onto.🎭🩰

A moment from Casablanca, Morocco, Africa performing Anais, A Dance Opera at the 13th Annual Festival International du Theatre de Casablanca (The King’s Festival), inspired by Anais Nin, a story that challenges, celebrates, and honors women living fully and freely. @anaisninunbound

And somehow… I’m still on this journey. I’m still performing with this same incredible company in 2026 and we’re back on stage tomorrow in Alhambra and Monday in Santa Monica.

This is one of those memories I never even dreamed of havingand yet I got to live it, surrounded by the most amazing people.

And what’s even more meaningful is how much we’ve grown. Those of us who are still dancing with this company have evolved so much, individually and together. As artists, as collaborators, as humans. You can feel it in the work now… there’s more depth, more trust, more truth.

We’ve also learned so much from our director at Mixed eMotion Theatrix, @janetrostondance about how to tell stories through theater and dance, how to blend movement, emotion, and narrative in a way that really lands with an audience.

And this weekend feels even more special because some of us, including me have choreographed pieces in the show. Getting to not only perform, but also create within this company has been such a full-circle, deeply meaningful experience.

What stays with me isn’t just the performance… it’s the audience. The energy. The unexpected, overwhelming support. The reminder that art, especially theater has the power to connect us across cultures, fears, and expectations.

Theater asks us to be brave. To show up. To tell the truth.
And when it lands… it really lands (that’s what you’ll see this weekend).

If you’re around, come experience it with us. We’d love to have you there. 🎭✨
